It's quite interesting that though Trump is definitely capable of stretching the limits of the system every Republican victory
has been tainted as fraudulent, racist etc for decades.

Trump's election wasn't accepted, George Bush's was called fraudulent and voter suppression and racism in
2004. Now Obama is trying to make voter suppression the main course beginning the narrative of fraud if
    Trump is re-elected.

It seems it historically been the folks anointed by media as the progressive saviors that always complain and
throw a tantrum when they lose.

I'm sure there will be plenty of meme's about Trump saying the same thing. Anyone who believes this has been brainwashed by their political party.

Dude Trump is the one crying about bad elections. He wants to postpone them? He's the President who's responsible for the sucky election quality that he himself is afraid of. Who started crying about 2020? Donald Trump.

Were you not alive in 2000? It came down to one state with razor thin margins, and the winning nominee’s brother was governor of that state lol. There will forever be skepticism about that race for obvious reasons

People DO be getting annoyed when the person with the most actual votes lose. Which is how the Republicans have been doing it since then.

I'm willing to consider that scenario. But most realize that the economy was in outstanding shape before COVID lockdowns. Obviously Trump hates Obama for co-opting the DOJ and Intel agencies to try to frame him for fake Russian collusion... so my hunch is that he was trying to get ahead of Obama's political stunt at the funeral. But the GDP report scenario also has merit and is worthy of consideration.

I offer my sincere congratulations. You posted a worthy, intelligent scenario. That puts you in rare air around here.

And this is a good thing why?

So it was worth having most republicans denouncing this just to deflect from Obama's wake speech?

How do you see the calculus working?

He had been floating the idea with his staff prior to this and they told him it could not be done.

    He still tweeted it out.

    the irony is rich !

White House condemns China for delaying Hong Kong elections
despite Trump suggesting same for US

The White House on Friday condemned China's decision to delay an election in Hong Kong by one year due to the coronavirus pandemic even as Donald Trump continues floating the idea about the US election slated for November.

Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Trump administration officials "condemn the Hong Kong government's decision to postpone for one year its legislative ... elections, and to disqualify opposition candidates. This action undermines democratic processes and freedoms that have underpinned Hong Kong's prosperity."

"This is only the most recent [of] a growing list of broken promises by Beijing," she added.

That came less than 24 hours after the US president again signalled he would support – even prefer – the 3 November election in the United States be delayed, arguing a massive increase in mail-in ballots due to fears about voting in person inevitably will lead to widespread fraud.

Or his staff might tell him and he's either not paying attention or he forgets.

Trump's election wasn't accepted? Where are the people saying the election was fraudulent? The only person suggesting Trump's election was fraudulent was Trump when he claimed that he lost the popular election because of voting by illegal immigrants and voter fraud.

    Trump's election was absolutely accepted.

You said that he said that to take away from Obama's "stunt". Obama's "stunt" came hours after Trump's tweet.

And keep in mind that Trump, himself, is quoted as saying that he does not kid.

This is expected given the health crisis and concern for one own and family health.

The gov should be working overtime to prepare for this. Seeing that the trump admin has started cutting back at the post office, has caused delay of mail delivery is very concerning. Instead of working to meet the higher demand, the admin is working to add delay and possibly cause confusion and chaos.
