Closest thing I've seen to that squad. The Big Man superstar surrounded by good/solid role players.

Pelican have a secretary named Mrs. Kennedy.

The 94 Rockets secretary? Mrs. Lincoln.

93-94 Rockets won 58 games, and were the #2 seed. Also Chucky Brown only came on for the 94-95 team. He wasn’t there for the 94 championship.

I can see the Charles Jones and Anthony Davis similarities.

    Bullard / Mirotic.

    Holiday / Tim Breaux

Amazing post. When I was a little kid I was obsessed with the Lincoln/Kennedy "coincidences." You made my day haha!

They are the most impressive team in the playoffs at present, and it isn't close. They literally blew out the number three seed that I expected to give GS a struggle. They are playing out of their minds. If they stay this hot, they are going to be difficult to deal with, especially the way the Rockets are struggling. Don't count them out of winning it all if they keep playing the way they are.

You may be on to something here.

Has anyone ever seen this year's Pelicans squad and the 93-94 Rockets together? At the same time, in the same place? No, right?

    There's a reason for that.

1 series and everyone's ready to crown them.
    Let's calm down.

I realize I am on the internet forums where people overreact after a win or a loss but geez.

    here's the list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln–Kennedy_coincidences_urban_legend

Did you know this? "Martin Gardner examined the list in an article in Scientific American, later reprinted in his book, The Magic Numbers of Dr. Matrix.[3]"

Which makes this the stuff of gematria and @RocketsTruth , amirite @Houston112 ? or should we call you ... DR. MATRIX?

Pelicans have been impressive, but it's silly that the media is labelling this as some big upset. They finished ONE game behind the Blazers in the standings. Teams were equal on paper but New Orleans' best players showed up, unlike Lillard who struggled all series.

Olajuwan may be the best player or 2nd best player in the nba history. Davis is not top 50.

In my opinion, the 3rd best team in the nba this playoffs is Pelicans (without Cousins).

All 5 starters are good, no weakness.

Well they just swept the 3 seed and we couldn't do the same to the 8th seed. Not saying they are a better team, but they are playing at the level we should be!

More like the Kevin Garnett led Timberwolves who got hot one year, but then became a disappointment until KG was traded to the Celtics.

So yeah, I can see history repeat itself and guess which team has young trade assets again?
