I want him back, which I didn't think I would, but can't be more than 4/$65 type deal.

Can we score off him? Because he's going to walk. Deserves his paycheck.

Thank you for the seven years you gave to the Astros. I will remember you most for calling out the FO for not making any trade last year at the trade deadline. Thank you too for giving way to JV and GC in the starting rotation rank. Huge

Good grief. I want to hold on to Marwin but not at that price.

LOL no. Marwin gets $70M he has far exceeded any reasonable expectations. Keuchel may get a 9 figure deal but nowhere near $150M. My guess is Keuchel gets $130M/6yrs and Marwin gets $44M/3yrs plus a vesting option.

You're kidding right? That would have made Keuchel the second highest paid MLB player to start 2018 and put Marwin in the top 15. Neither comes anywhere close to those numbers.

I dont think we pay DK or Marwin Boras type money. Say goodbye and farewell to both of them.

For those that have forgotten, remember last year the glut of guys waiting for their big payday? Some of which still were not playing in mid April? Others that took pay cuts to play at all? I look for more of that next year. The cream of the cream will still get payed, no doubt, many others will not. I expect most Boras clients to go unemployed the longest.

Yeah I suspect DK is gonna be on the market for a while. Boras is gonna go into the offseason trying to get Keuchel paid like a guy who has had a sub 3 ERA 3 of the 4 seasons prior to 2018. After a while it will become clear nobody is paying him like that, there will be a market for the solid starter that he still is.

By years end, 2018 Marwin looked an awful lot like 2014-2016 Marwin, decent hitter and flexible player, but not an ideal lineup mainstay. Again Boras will go in preaching his 2017, and second half of 2018, but teams are smarter than that these days.

I think Peacock and Yuli can replace those 2 without losing much at all, maybe even a little better. Find a full time 1B in the market to replace Yuli, or possibly a DH with White and Yuli splitting reps at 1B.

That’s pretty funny. But maybe yanks or rangers will give them that kind of money. Rangers has refuse to rebuilt. They’re most likely to overpaid guys like DK and Marwin huge money. I hope they do.

I absolutely Love the Type of Prospects that are ready to takeover for the Astros,
Forrest Whitley, Josh James can be better than this years Keuchel, McCullers both of them are injury prone.

Seth Beer replaces Yuli Gurriel at 1B
Kyle Tucker replaces Marwin Gonzalez at LF
Yordan Alvarez replaces Evan Gattis, Tyler White at DH
    Cionel Perez replaces Tony Sipp

The Astros need a Youth Movement and Let them play.

I like Marwin and wish there was a way he could stay. But his offensive numbers just dont warrant a giant pay raise.

    (OPS)
    April .665
    May .545
    June .815
    July .615
    August .967
    Sept .738
    --------
    .733 for the year.

I love his defense and versatility. But he is basically an average hitter.

I will always remember Keuchel for 2013-2015. Along with Altuve, he was a spark of hope during some dismal years. Then there was that whole Cy Young thing.

Kudos, DK. May you carry a 0.80 WHIP against 28 teams, and a 4.50 WHIP against the Astros. :8

I would let Dallas walk offer the one year QO. But that's it.
    And work with Marwin.
Honestly I think Marwin goes to the red sox

2015 was fun as hell for the first time in a long time, and he pitched like a wizard.

I don't trust him because he is a liar. This guy promised to shave his beard if we won the World Series last year. His word means nothing to me.

I think his more egregious lies was not admitting injury in 2016 and was basically pitching with a broken foot at the end of 2017.

Well it seems his word doesn't mean much, so I would say he is an untrustworthy player.

If part of your criteria is players not being honest about injuries, then the vast majority of athletes are untrustworthy.

He said he would shave his beard if we won the World Series last year and never did. Nothing he says means much to me anymore.
