No, that would end badly. But, I do think US' self-interest includes having strong and well-ordered neighbors. When countries are in distress, their problems tend to spill over the border. So, we should want to help Mexico with its law-and-order problem and, btw, to continue to develop its economy. Taking refugees, besides being a humanitarian good deed in itself, can be part of a larger strategy to take some pressure off the country and to incubate some stable citizenry for an eventual return. I don't think taking refugees and doing nothing else is that great an idea. But continuing to trade with (good job Trump on striking a new trade deal with them) and invest in them, and to cooperate with them on efforts to fight cartels and corruption should lick the problem in the long run. Better border enforcement, immigration reform that normalizes Mexican immigrants, drug law reform, and gun regulation in my mind would help Mexico get stronger, which will save us from the headache of the knock-on problems.

Well, like many immigrants, they can add to our economy so it isn't all a drain.

I'm not sure why you're quoting me on this. Cohete Rojo was the one that posted the article about the violence in Mexico. What other point would he be trying to make except that we should take in more refugees?

    Just another day in Mexico.

Mexico violence: Remains of 166 found in Veracruz mass grave

The remains of at least 166 bodies have been found in a mass grave in Mexico's eastern state of Veracruz.

State prosecutor Jorge Winckler said that the remains had been there for at least two years.

The exact location is not being disclosed for security reasons, he added.

Drug traffickers have used Veracruz as a dumping ground for their victims for many years. In March 2017, 250 skulls were found in another mass grave there.

Yes.. it needs to be more secure.

Here is a video from game cameras in one ranch in Arizona. Look at all those poor women and children.... I mean military aged males in camo, and some with AKs and AR-15s. Some even have night vision equipment.

Have a wonderful Good Friday, everyone.

Five of the six most violent cities in the world are in Mexico, report says

Tijuana was the most violent city in the world in 2018, according a new report by a Mexican nonprofit group that ranked cities based on their homicide rates.

The report by the Citizens’ Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice found that five out of six of the world’s most violent municipalities were in Mexico, where homicides have risen to historic levels in recent years amid a military-led war against criminal groups.

Thanks! You too. It will be even better if you can post more articles that you believe make a point but aren't really relevant.
