I think Watson plays best when it is a big game and when he is coming from behind. He did that a lot at Clemson. He showed that type of character against Alabama in the CFB championship game. A lot of fans are down on him now, so, he will have a bounce back game next preseason game or whenever he plays again.

I hear ya, but Watson has some work to do, no shame in it, he's a rookie playing the toughest position in the NFL.

Sometimes you have to lie a little to be a team guy. Sometimes you have to take the fall for your owner's decisions. It's how you earn your big salary.

Not everything BOB tells media is 100% the truth.

I think O 'Brien is the only coach who can make Watson look boring. Why don't we use Germone Hopper with Watson? Weren't they teammates at Clemson and wasn't Hopper receiving for him at the college combine?

Instead he has no opportunity to create chemistry with a stable corps of 2s. Receivers are going in and out. I also hated all those handoffs to the RBs that went nowhere.

That throw was truly incredible. Other than that, I thought it was a very poor outing. Hoping he can bounce back with an extended look next week.

The throw he made to Wendell Williams across his body was better but Williams dropped it. But overall Watson was pretty bad

Let's ask the guys who gave Brock Osweiler $37 million guaranteed and started Mallet twice how to evaluate QBs.

    What were their options

The offense was limited by Schaub's talent.

There is Brady but all the other other franchise quarterbacks have raw talent

If Savage stays healthy the offense will expand

Hopefully this looks different next pre-season. I'm not expecting Watson to ever be the best QB from this class, but it would be nice if he was top 3 by next season.

Hopefully he is the best qb in the class; we traded a lot for him

Well sure, we can hope for that, but I don't think it's realistic to expect it. He's got a lot of intangibles which is great, but he's got a long way to go before he's a starting quality NFL QB.
