It's not really a fair fight though. Texans secondary is in shambles and they have no one to rush the passer. If you think Lamar is 41-7 better than Watson you are wrong.
Lamar Jackson just solidified the 2019 mvp with that performance. I think it's a toss up between he and Deshaun for the better overall player, but this kid is a monster. He dominated the Pats defense and he out dueled Wilson, Watson, and Brady. He is crushing the false narratives about his ability as a passer along the way. The guy doesn't even have a true #1 receiver.
Nice try. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...owney-to-seattle.301064/page-26#post-12607280 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...owney-to-seattle.301064/page-25#post-12600701 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...owney-to-seattle.301064/page-36#post-12656137 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...owney-to-seattle.301064/page-36#post-12658168 Literally saying the cap room next year was more valuable than Clowney this year (despite the fact that you could still have the caproom and 3rd round pick next year by just releasing him after the season) and that his replacements were better this year. From that, you can deduce that he's saying the Texans' other players were good enough that it was worth trading Clowney for junk to clear capspace (that didn't need to be cleared). It's not some complicated logic puzzle. That took all of 2 minutes to find - you can find plenty more if you're actually interested.
It's clear at this point Watson can be defended against. He's had some dud games against good defenses that gameplan him well. And not all of it can be just blamed on other players or BOB. He's not, for instance, Russell Wilson, who can make something out of even the worst situations. I don't know if I take him or Jackson or Mahomes or whoever else, to me that's immaterial. They're all good enough to be a Super Bowl winning QB. The issue has always been whether the Texans are good enough as a team to reach the SB. And that answer has never been yes since the year when we looked like a juggernaut before Matt Schaub went down. Never in any of our playoffs did you think we could've gone to the super bowl if we just had better luck. We always looked like we clearly didn't belong in the discussion.
Could say the same. Let's not forget your claim: "We were told we were so good up front that Clowney was superfluous and could be traded for junk." Where has someone said "we were so good up front" or that Clowney could be traded for junk? Comments after the trade cannot support that. And who has said that? Saying that his replacement has done well is not the same as saying they are better. Well, no you can't and that's not even what you claimed. Perhaps you should try harder to keep your rage in check.
