Morey gotta hang his hat on something. Sad he doesn’t have anything more recent to be proud of.

That's great Duryl but it's 2019 we need a new trade to talk about.

Unfortunately this looks to be true and it damn nearly paid off. Because it didn't though it doesn't seem worth it and now Morey has hamstrung himself with this roster and no cap space...

It's not just the trade. It's also the wink wink deal for max money, which torpedoed chances for target free agents.

nope. with LTS as the #1 priority it had no impact whatsoever, other than Tilman isn't willing to spend for role players

Let's also talk about the pursuit of Ryan Anderson and Carmelo Anthony.

So you had no problem w/ CP's current albatross contract? NICE.

I'll give you that it allowed us to net RW. But that's as far as it goes, the future looks grim as far as cap space and trade scenarios are concerned.

Also, I'm sure Morey could've done more had CP taken less money. CP's trade value for one. I'm sure Morey could've worked with what he had and created more cap space if it looked like it could be done. He was just tied down because he had to hand CP a max contract and stay under Tillman's direction.

that's not what the op was about. the fake lazy opinion that you posted was his contract cost free agents. and for the 1000th time, the rockets would of been over the cap regardless unless you expected him to play for free.

him taking less money would of made no difference considering tilman is all about LTS. It's LTS over everything and he's done nothing thus far to show rockets fans otherwise. so no morey would not have done more bc he'd be in the same exact situation of LTS. so your cap space theory is irrelevant and w/ the addition of westbrick, the repeater he worked so hard to avoid got reset to the beginning

On the audio version, at the end, they do talk about playoffs against GSW, Chris Paul and Westbrook.

totally false. That generated the greatest regular season and arguably best team the Rockets ever had. Morey can’t predict CP3 would tear his hammy and never recover. In fact our team would be totally fine if we just had an owner who would pay luxury tax.

Morey had to punt soo many assets to get us under the tax last year that if we just had those players we would be in the drivers seat this year with Westbrook.

If we just resigned Ariza and kept Ryan Anderson’s expiring or Brandon Knight with our first and second round picks this team would look a lot different. But now we have no room for improvement and that’s on the owner. Morey is an asset collector and always has been until Tillman took over and all he has had to work with is dumpster diving. Can’t believe we haven’t even used our MLE.

It's called going all in, and we at CFN clamor for it all the time.
