Why would they make big money signings now? They need depth

    TO GET D'ANGELO RUSSELL

Is it really that hard to figure it out in the 'Warriors getting DLo' thread?

They had to dump salary to make the Russell move work - and with Durant gone and Klay out most of the year, they badly needed some scoring punch too. Giving up on a key veteran like Iggy is rough, but he's 35 and has lost a couple of steps. If that's what you have to do to add a 23 yr old All Star, it's really not a hard decision (though three firsts is a LOT).

Prob cuz he put em in blast for how they handled his and KD’s injuries. Also cuz they cold and heartless. He’s older and they got what they needed from him.

The Rockets problem is that they need to learn to shut their mouths. There wasn’t any strong talk of Butler to the Heat... Riley took care of it behind closed doors... there wasn’t any real discussion of Russell to the Warriors... again it was handled in private.

Had fat mouth Thad and Daryl and Tillman said nothing, there would be less hurt feelings in the locker room and fans would not be as fired up.

They had to to. They are getting Russell in a SnT. They have to be below the apron at the completion of the deal. To get there they had to lose Iggy or Draymond.

Now they are sitting $300k below the apron and are hard-capped for the rest of the year.

Possible that Livingston is retiring and freeing up $7.6m.

some truth to this. they were very tight lipped about the cp3 saga and houston wasn't considered a strong option at the time either by people on the outside

Looney shouldn’t be limited to center.

It is also only a matter of time before both Capela and Gordon are gone.

    A couple of things.

One. Are the GSW really trading KD, Iggy and Looney (effectively at this point) so they can add Russell? The strategy HAS to be accumulate this asset, hope he still plays at an all star level, and trade him later.

This is one of those sneaky “bad” moves imo. The opposite of what David Griffin is doing or Utah is doing. Russell benefited from being the best guy in a team of “ok” guys with great coaching and chemistry. He had a 107 Ortg and 110 Drtg. He wasn’t an efficient scorer. And he was MUCH MUCH MUCH worse in the playoffs.

Two. Why are the Nets doing this? Couldn’t they sign KD without a S&T?

Excited to see DLO chuck next to Curry. Warriors should’ve just picked up Seth and called it a day.
