    Interesting, I can't honestly think back to a time when this would have been an issue, particularly when you consider the kind of gear that comes out during Olympic years. But I also can't imagine a time when a shoe company would have signed an inactive athlete in a feud with the highest rated sports and overall product on television: can you imagine Charmin signing Jeff George for endorsements because they deal with assholes all day? I also can't think back to a time when any portion of white and middle- or southeastern-America was spiteful enough to nominate and elect someone like Donald Trump.
