Just yet another example of Trump controlling the narrative.

Trump spams out another stupid tweet about the NFL.
NFL stoops to Trumps level and responds in an equally childish manner.
Everyone is pissed and offended at each other now.

Please please stop letting Trump trigger you. Who honestly gives a **** what Trump said about the NFL? Stop stooping to his childish tactics.

Trump has an amazing ability to bring out the worst in people (that's not a compliment). Today he brought out the worst in athletes and the NFL. He got them to stand up for an anti-cop protest and to dishonor the American flag on foreign soil.

Don't let the president of the United States influence you people. He's JUST the president! His words don't mean anything. They don't have any impact on issues in this country, they don't inspire anyone to do good or do wrong, they don't represent us abroad, etc. Silly kids getting triggered because the, lol, "president" says things.

What is so ironic about this whole kneeling for the anthem issue is that it doesn't really address the problem that it started out to be about, police shootings. Basically, it is serving to insult vets and irritate fans. The time, energy, and resources wasted on this meaningless anthem debate could be better focused on actually addressing police shootings in real communities. It is like everyone has lost the original point. Sticking it to Trump is getting us nowhere. Plus NFL and other sports revenues are going to drop with nothing accomplished. My suggestion, stop the anthem protests and form a social justice task force to work with police departments. Stop insulting the vets. Get something actually done.

It honestly speaks more to the fragility of many veterans' egos that people kneeling over an issue that is not at all related or targeted towards them to turn it into an attack on them.

It also shows how brainwashed a large segment of our population is in hold something as repetitive and trivial as a anthem playing before a sporting event as some sacred tradition. People care too much about symbolic gestures. They hold pieces of fabric more valuable than holding officers in this country acountable for violating our bill of rights.

    It's fast food patriotism.

Oh and Trump also got people to attack vets. Like I said, he brings out the worst in people.

Veterans are normal human beings. Many of them can be assholes full of hubris just like the general population. Stop placing them on a pedestal.

The ones who make this into an attack on themselves are the ones full of themselves.

Like major organizations taking the time to protest this repetitive symbolic gesture? When most of the spectators of these organizations come out to watch a competition, not to debate politics?

Completely agree. The NFL is full of themselves. Now can we just drop the politics and play?

It's a very graceful form of protest. It bothers no one beside dim witted people's sensibilities.

If you came to watch the game and not care about politics, then you can ignore the one player out of 100,000 other humans in the massive stadium. You are welcome, I just taught you how to avoid being offended.

No. The veterans who made a protest that had NOTHING to do with them into an attack on to themselves are the ones full of themselves.

The NFL and its owners are defending their players from the President of the United States stating that they should be fired for their decision to bend the knee. Since the issue effects their players. they aren't full of themselves.

    See, logic. Apply it.

Ya, our president is acting in a childish manner. People are calling him out. If this was a hobo on a street corner acting like a child, no one would give a ****.

But he's our president. People need to address that our president is acting like a child.

Stop playing the game of "blame the adults, not the child" game here when the child is the President of the United States.

He's not controlling a narrative. All he is accomplishing is showing the planet that the most powerful nation on this planet is being run by a child.

And still, nothing of real value is accomplished. Political posturing does not equate with social action.

Are we still going to pretend this is about police brutality lol When Kaepernick did it last year, most of the NFL didn't give two shets, some thought he was just attention whoring.

A year later everyone is hopping on the bandwagon because Trump tweeted something stupid again, which is pretty much every single time he tweets.

I swear if Trump tweeted tomorrow he loves eating meat half of the country will swear to be Vegans, if Trump tweeted something positive about Heineken next morning people would be drinking Budweiser

Trump tweeted that people should be fired for exercising their free speech.

    How are your hypotheticals relevant?

People act like Trump is a random celebrity making these dumb tweets.

We shouldn't ignore that our president is dumb.

I think that is colloquially known as "Trump derangement syndrome" and yeah, that's pretty much how it goes and unfortunately the condition is pretty widespread and there's no known cure for it.

Is this a post to further discussion or just to insult because quite frankly I don't understand what you are talking about?

I think the suggestion was that the same people who are/were anti-war are the same types of people who would jump at any opportunity to disrespect the country. For the most part, that would be accurate and I know vets who are like that, so there's a chance he's not wrong.
