Dan Snyder once again proves why he's the worst owner in the NFL.

Redskins should have tagged Cousins for one more year instead of reaching for a career journeyman like Alex Smith who is not going to get the job done...EVER!

The worst that could happen is Cousins walks in 2019 and Redskins go back to the drawing board and look to draft another QB, but giving Smith a 4-year extension is franchise suicide for a decade.

Career journeyman? He's played for 2 teams in 12 seasons (7 with SF and 5 with KC). It's not like he's Case Keenum, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Hoyer, Brandon Weeden, TJ Yates...

    Now I'm sad.

You know what I mean. He wasn't good enough in San Francisco and now Kansas City believes the same thing even after a strong season. To think this guy was taken over Aaron Rodgers.

You misunderstand Dan Snyder's goals. It clearly isn't to actually win Super Bowls.

Talib is likely to be cut so Denver offered a less desirable contract but a higher draft pick.

KC wasn't in a hurry to trade Smith within division.

Texans need to be on the phone with Talib.

I think its a bad move, but do you really want to pay Cousins 30 mil?

The Redskins made their bed a while ago with that 2nd tag. That basically put the nail in the coffin for Cousin's tenure in DC.

As for Smith, he'll put up career numbers in Gruden's pew pew offense but the team will still suck and will only make the playoffs if the NFC sucks so bad it lets them grab a wildcard.

Deckchairs on the Titanic. A true Redskins move if there ever was one.

Don't like seeing KC getting stronger with Fuller.
They were already better than us before the trade.

I would say there's little to no difference between Cousins and Smith, So from that standpoint if the Skins save a little money good for them, but they gave up a great defender and a pick so they really didn't save anything. They lost in the deal. It doesn't move them forward. Its moves them backwards. It was more like they were trying to cover their ass and they still took a bullet to the calf. Think Alex Smith is probably underrated, but it's been proven by time and pressure that he can't elevate his game in the playoffs. So it's just sort of leaves you wondering what is the point of it all. From the Chiefs perspective I get the whole thing. They just added a whole lot of potential for a franchise spinning their wheels a bit. It's rational.

Yes, for one season. It's the smart move instead of committing to Alex Smith for 4 years and $90 million.

Even if Cousins is not the franchise QB you want, keep him for one more year and go shopping for a younger and cheaper replacement in the draft.

He didn't know Manziel's Canadian area code, tough to get a call through to an Ontario casino/whorehouse. They should hang though.

As a Cowboys fan, I hate this move. Alex Smith was the perfect get for Washington.

Kirk Cousins was 1-5 in the NFC East this year. He threw 9 TD passes and 9 INTs

Alex Smith hasn't thrown 9 INTs in an entire year since 2010. Cousins did it in 6 GAMES.

Washington will be an extremely tough team to beat in the division next year.

Honestly though, I do blame Brock Osweiler for the Texans not having any draft picks this year.

Why? The chances of Mahome being as successful as Smith next year are very low, although we have seen a trend in recent years of rookie QB's doing quite well.

Whereas KC will be easier to beat, in general, hence my comment above.

Manziel doesn't realize he's a loser. RG3 does and cries about it. Not sure which is worse. Probably Manziel.

Manziel, VY & RG3 walk into a bar. They go to the back. And clock in.

    NEXT.

Chiefs aren't winning a SB with Smith. Therefore, no risk in turning the page and giving the ball to Mahomes. Let him grow with Hunt and Hill.

If it completely fails, fire Andy Reid and clean house.

Sometimes you gotta swing for the fences.
