I am a big fan. He was fabulous at UH. He was outstanding at Minnesota. He has been essentially screwed over everywhere else. He needs a good to great offensive line as most QB's do. Not sure about Denver. He may have better receivers than at the Vikings. Elway's screw up of his name was embarrassing and may have been on purpose.
3rd in 2017 with tight-window throws. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...matthew-stafford-among-top-10-tightwindow-qbs
Denver is just a bad fit. He's not going to be a guy Elway trusts, but someone he lives with until the next best thing. He needs a fast paced offense that highlights his quick decision making. And it would be best if he was with a team that relied on him as the show. all that said, to be starting in the nfl, from what he had to overcome, that's a good place to be.
Ya, was just reading ESPN's 'how each team gets to 10 wins' column, and they were kinda high on Denver and their QB. Keenum did have a good year last year, but to expect that to continue is fools gold. He strikes me as a really good backup QB to have on your roster. But, hey, maybe he'll be more like Tony Romo (yes, Cowboy, so that name probably grinds). But he became a pretty good starting QB after being undrafted, and not really playing for a few years after that. But that's the exception, not the rule. There is a long list of backup QBs who had a pretty good year...and then didn't do much after that. Texans fans certainly know this (Schaub, anyone?)
The Broncos' formula for success is basically hope Keenum doesn't self-destruct while the rest of their division implodes.
Going to use my NFL Sunday Ticket to watch all the Bronco games this year. Hoping Case Keenum will have a great year and not suck like many are expecting him to.
All the stats point to having arrived. It's just a question of what kind of offense will they be running.
It's funny he's now being known as a "winner." when all he could do is lose with the Texans. What I believe is that he was trained well to take advantage of defenses, and as long as you put him in the position to read the defense, and throw a lot, he can do that really well now. That where he shines. You put in a offense with 2 WR and he will generally suffer. I think it's the same thing with Mariota. Let them do what they were trained to do.
