Not really following but Minnesota has some problem(s) on their hands. Northern Illinois 'would likely' replace Minnesota Leonard Fournette will not play in the bowl game.
If NIU gets the invite, bet HEAVILY against them... they haven't practiced or met as a team since the season ended because they can't unless going to a bowl game under NCAA rules.
I wonder if Vegas would just take the game off the board if that ends up happening. That just seems like too strange a situation for anyone to feel confident in a line.
McCaffrey and Fournette both skipping bowl games. Hopefully this will help speed up the death of the bowl game system. Almost every other sport, including the other divisions of NCAA football, have a playoff system where all teams have a clear path to the title. They could still incorporate many of the bowls into a playoff system if they wanted to. They could very easily have a 16 team playoff where all the conference champions get in. Maybe some of the smaller conferences have a play in game. Maybe a few wild card teams for the major conferences. It could work and the popularity of college ball would skyrocket. We don't need all these silly bowl games that few people care anything about.
I'm totally ok with guys deciding they don't want to play. Having said that, it makes me care even less about college football.
This is not a fad and not about seeking attention. It's about protecting your draft stock in what amounts to a largely meaningless exhibition game. This is going to become the norm for upperclassmen not participating in NY6+ bowl games. To that I say good. Kill these stupid s**t-tier bowls that do nothing but bilk schools and fans for cash.
FYI, hehestreams is broadcasting all the bowl games for free at absurd quality. Knowing his past server issues, it's probably best not to spread the link around too much haha https://hehestreams.xyz/bowl_games
Would love Kaya to be there when Texans pick. High IQ, athletic, strong arm, and can make all throws.
After starting 6-0, A&M lost to every Power 5 school it faced. Bill Snyder moves to 168-8 when leading at halftime.
Speaking of not playing in bowl games, Pitt lost three of its best starters on offense yesterday to head injuries. Two are NFL draft picks, and one is a fringe prospect at QB.
Nobody is watching these crap bowls yet. Aggies just showed up to woo recruits, have fun, swag off, get drafted and make money. They didn't care about winning, nor should they. Snyder team did Snyder things I guess. Didn't watch.
