Could you imagine if Jim Morrison's death was in the middle of "The Doors" and the rest of the movie was about what the rest of the band did next? Holy crap...that would've been a f***ing disaster.

What the surviving members of Queen want is a documentary...not a movie.

I'm really more excited to see how the band carries on after Freddie dies -- their new stuff with Adam Lambert is breathtaking.

Either someone really knows how to make a good trailer. Or that movie looks damn good.

I won't be able to watch that movie without ruining it for myself by constantly wondering how Sasha Baron Cohen would have done Freddie.

I hear this isn't even a Freddie bio pic. The Queen band members wouldn't grant their blessing unless it was about the whole band and only up to Live Aid which is only half the story. That's why Sasha left.

I expect all the stuff we really want to see won't be there and the movie will suffer because of the egos of the surviving members of Queen.

Yeah, I wonder how much truth there is to this at this point? Maybe they caved? He definitely seemed to be the main focus by far in the trailer, and even the punch line makes it sounds like a biopic ("The only thing more extraordinary than their music is his story.").

They hold to the rights to *the songs*, right? Isn't that their bargaining chip? I imagine any of us could make a warts'n'all Mercury film - but if Queen doesn't sign-off, you can't use their songs. And as much as a movie focused on Queen - and not Mercury - sounds blah, *any* film about Mercury/Queen without the songs..... doesn't it sound worse?....

The only person that I've ever seen sing a queen song and do it justice, other than Freddie, was George Michael during the Freddie Mercury tribute concert. Freddie was a legend and Adam Lambert is just a really good karaoke singer.

He's really good in the sense that he sounds like Freddie, but I was talking about stage presence and pure singing talent. George Michael sung it like George Michael and it was just as good in a totally different way. Adam Lambert is just cheezy with very little singing talent. I was very disappointed when Queen picked him to be their front man.

Rami Malek is a great actor, I have no doubt he'll nail the part as Freddy. Just gotta hope that the story and other parts are well done.

I saw it and really loved it. That being said, there wasn't enough time to get really deep into the Freddie's story, still have great music content, and keep that PG-13 rating.
