Mariano Rivera was ranked way lower than Bags... so was Verlander and Kershaw

He’d be a first ballot hall of famer with the current voters. Should have been anyways of course.

He'd better be higher than freaking Frank Thomas on that list.

Loved him so much. I'm glad he's getting more recognition as time goes on. I'm also glad to see Frank Thomas below him at #74.

About damn time. Still can't believe those morons put the Big Fat in first ballot while Bagwell waited seven years.

Athletic owed the Astros a favor after the breaking the sign stealing story.

Best baseball player I've seen in Houston, not even close.

Bagwell barely cracks top 10 in Houston alone.

People who succeed in the playoffs. Duh, regular season doesn't matter.

The most complete player I've ever seen. Good fielder before his shoulder fell off and an otherworldly base running acumen on top of his hitting ability

One of the great shames is that a grand total of 11 games in the late 90's permanently ruined his legacy to so many shortsighted people around here.

    I'll hazard a guess:
Springer, Altuve, Verlander, Bregman, Gurriel, Cole, Correa, MarGo, and the Trash Can.

I understand that Trash Can put up insane WAR numbers between 2017 and 2019 but it's from the DH position. Bags actually had to play defense and played it well

Bagwell isn't in the top 100 baseball players of all time, recency bias.

List them, Joe Smith. That article is written by analysts who've studied this both statistically and within the historical narrative. So, being all high and mighty and blowing it off with "recency bias": list 99 players in baseball better than Jeff Bagwell.

    I'll be waiting.
