Keeping Tucker and Alvarez is what could make it possible to resign Springer. If you keep him, Altuve, Bregman and Correa long term, you will have to have some really good players who aren’t making a lot of money to make it work. Tucker in arb years making less than Reddick does now, Alvarez playing for cheap instead of paying Yuli...those guys will be a key to making it work If you trade Tucker for Realmuto, that’s one less low money guy in a few years that could be really good, and you either lose Realmuto after 2 years or you sign him and one of our top 4 are gone, cause we certainly won’t be able to pay all 4 and pay Realmuto also
Yea I agree Britton certainly won’t draw a Tucker Alvarez type of prospect, and when it comes to depth of prospects that next level down, we lap the field of contenders in that department Plus, it’s always hard to figure out who Luhnow likes when it comes to acquiring players, but we know he likes Britton, he would be here already if not for their owner
Yea I can’t imagine anyone giving up a top 50 type for a rental Britton. 1) he is a rental 2) you are getting him hoping he is getting back to his old self, but it isn’t certain that’s the guy you are getting 3) pretty much everyone else would be getting him as a set up man and you don’t see too 50 guys traded for rental set up guys ever
The market place may have other ideas. If competition is great enough then people will overpay and a top 50 guy could be the price to acquire a "stud" reliever (formerly at least) if you think it puts you over the top. Not saying I'd do it, but some clubs are crazy enough to.
I suppose anything is possible, but looking at theHerrera and Familia trades it sure isn’t trending that way. That and the other contending teams that could add a reliever don’t have much in that top tier to offer And before you mention the Hand trade for a top guy, he is controlled and not a rental
A’s hedging their bets some with Familia. If they fall on their face, they can always turn around a flip him. Not sure their front office is fully buying into them this year.

Strong/proud fan base that has been put through a lot of crap. It’s also the Warriors fan base, so you know they’ll support a winner. In the end, they’re the only team that will remain in Oakland. Fans will be there if they’re winning.
I dont think you take what I say seriously anyway. So, you think Sea, LAA or OAK would be favored? If not, whats hard to believe? I also think Sea or even LAA, if fully healthy, would have the better chance to knock out the Yankees in a one gamer as opposed to the A's. Still not favored though.
Of course the Yankees (or Red Sox) would be favored - if healthy. That being said, the Astros are favored in almost every single game they play.
They've both played the Yankees tough in road series: Yanks are 5-1 against them with 2 walkoff wins and another by 1 run.
