    NYY
    H: 3 LAA, 3 Tor
    R: 3 Bos, 3 Det, 3 Tor, 2 TB, 3 Tex (last 5 on road)

IMO beating the Yankees is important to grab the one seed and get Rays/As/Indians instead of the Twins first round. Less important to beat out the Dodgers, especially given Greinke's ability at the plate.

In the 1 game of the series it would impact, I'd rather have Yordan at DH than Greinke batting 9th.

The Dodgers dont suffer from having DH given their hitting depth. And it's one freaking game where theres a difference.

If the Astros want to rest players and skip a Verlander or Cole start I'm all for it assuming we edged out the Yankees. I'd rather have healthy players than a hypothetical 1 home game edge in a hypothetical world series matchup

As long as we keep taking care of business at home, we got this.

Greinke is almost certainly the #3 pitcher too, so he likely only pitches at LA if we have homefield. So it's really Yordan batting or Verander/Cole, which is even worse.

Dodgers lost 1-0 last night. Giants got an RBI ground out in the top of the 1st and that was all the scoring.

The Yankees getting the 1 seed would be tough, but the Dodgers getting home field would hurt more.

Pineda caught cheating again, this time for a masking agent for PEDs. Gone for 60 games and the postseason, tough break for Minny.

Considering the Astros have won the season series with Oakland, isn't their magic number nine?

I think winning a season series only matters for seeding. Still must outright win the division. If they finish tied then there is a one game playoff. For years if both teams would make the postseason then there wouldn't be a one game playoff but with the 2 wild card team system you have to win outright.

To clinch playoffs we are down to 8 and division is down to 10. I’m thinking we clinch one or both in KC next weekend.

I also think we have a decent chance of finishing above .500, which to us early 70s-era Astros fans, is still pretty cool.

What was it like rooting for 70-year-old Eddie Matthews and his 500th bomb?
