On the MLB board we had a thread of the final game of the World Series that hit 10,000 posts before that board went under.

Opening day 2018 and I think the Astros will do it! We have the hitters, the pitchers, Kyle Tucker in the waiting and the deadline still.

Will be counting down the wins, Astros players stats for MVP update and magic number for playoffs all year long

I'm gonna call the Astros Butter because they are on a roll!

Early still but Astros are on pace for a 108-54 record LOL!!!!

Correa's on pace for .455 BA, 54 HRs and 162 RBIs
Altuve's on pace for .545 and 108 RBIs and 324 Hits

We may even hit 161-1. LET'S GO ASTROS!!!!

Joking aside, It is interesting to have 3 players on our team that can actually compete for the MVP: Springer, Altuve and Correa.

108 if you figure in team games played. 161 if you figure in his games played and that he doesn't take another day off.

    Slow your ****ing roll.

This is not the "MLB board", please don't treat it as such.

Can't think of a better way to start the season than by beating the Rangers 3 games to 1. Have a whole season left to go but so far so good.

Funny thing is we actually end our season with the Rangers (All 19 games) by the end of July.

5-1 and top in the AL in Runs scored (6.33) and 3rd in Runs against (3.00)

Correa showing his maturity at the plate and if he stays healthy may end up with MVP type #s.

I'm not sure how a team beats a healthy Astros 3 in 5 or 4 in 7, especially given the Astros likely have homefield. The dugout has 5 genuine quality starters, and even if they have a bad game, the Astros offense might take you for 13 like they did Kershaw's 2nd start in the world series.

This team has looked flawed at times but you know at any moment those bats could come out swinging. Despite that we are still 9-4 and on pace for over 110 wins. Even with Correa's slump he is still batting over .300 with 10 RBIs. Yuli will be back as well as Springer will break out of his funk soon. Going to be a good year.

Not really directly Astros related, but he certainly could impact things.

Ohtani is like a video game character I used to create back in the day. Throws 100, hits it 450 feet, and he legged out a triple today like nothing. The league will develop a book on him and we'll see how he adjusts, but man is he exciting to watch.

My guess is not many people saw over 100 wins after 17 games last season either. Is it possible that they don't win 110 games? Absofreakinlutely. Winning 110 games is extremely rare. But just because they've started 10-7 shouldn't dictate whether or not you think they're capable of another incredible season (100+ wins).

Of those teams that before the season started were thought to be AL WS contenders,

    Yankees (8-7)
    Indians (8-6)
    Boston (13-2)

Only Boston has done a good job getting out of the gate. Our showing after the 6-1 start has been disappointing. A lot of baseball yet to play though.
