Without a doubt. You go to more games than most.

Do you think the run conservation worked out? Im starting to think we need to start saving runs for the indians.

The Indians can match our firepower so we definitely need to save some runs for when we play them lol

The real question would be which team has saved up enough runs over their entire history for this particular playoff run.

The Astros have scored 37,403 runs averaging 4.18 runs per game.
The Indians have scored 82,711 runs averaging 4.53 runs per game.
The Yankees have scored 87,246 runs averaging 4.85 runs per game

Assuming runs are conserved based on the laws of run conservation. We have a clear advantage in the next series. Don't believe you need to adjust for parks because this is all about potential runs that can be converted to actual runs with energy and work. Parks are simply a mechanism to store runs over time. We should win the next series for simply having saved all those runs.

Of note, the Redsox will lose due to a lack of stored runs as well, averaging 4.65 runs per game. We have this thing wrapped and gifted.

Its time to explode and stop saving runs. I want to thank verlander and keuchel for putting together 2 amazing perforlmances so that we could save runs and only have to use 2 runs each of the 1st two games.

We gotta have at least 40 runs in the bank by this point. Time to cash in on 8 of them tommorow.

Saw this article and had to necrobump this old thread:

Dynamic Astros Are Warriors of MLB

Not that they need to "save runs for October," but at least one journalist agrees with OP about the Astros' prowess and standing. Nice.

I appreciate the sentiment by Lupica, but the Stros have more business to take care of. Right now we're just the Cubs of the AL. Also reminds me of the billboard seen in LA in 2006:

I can’t stand the Warriors, so I rather the Astros just be themselves. At least the road to the World Series title was more difficult than the Warriors title run. The Warriors probably don’t win in 2015 if LeBron had Kyrie and Kevin.

I don't see the analogy at all. The Astros had to battle tooth and nail to win the World Series going to game 7 in two different series. The GSW lost 1 game the entire playoffs and that was in the final. The Astros are nowhere close to as dominant as the GSW were last year. I don't think it's even possible in the sport of baseball for that kind of dominance to exist.

We were pretty dominated in the 2005 WS.

Depends on your definition of dominated.

    Lost by 2 runs
    Lost in bottom of 9th
    Lost in 14th inning
    Lost 1-0

    Statistically, 3 "coin-flip" games

Ah, second grade memories. Games 2, 3, and 4 (and to a lesser extent, even Game 1) all really sting to this day. We could have easily won all four, but at the very least, games 2, 3, and 4 should have all been in our column. Had we won the last 3, we'd have had a 3-1 Series lead and only needed one more (but of course, knowing Houston sports history, they could've very well found a way to blow it). That was just total torture. But it does seem like it was just destiny for the White Sux to win. They only lost one game that entire postseason (ALCS Game 1).

Losing the series 4-0 in this case.
