The Rockets only have a mid-second round pick. He's older (he'll be 23 entering the 2018-19 season) and there's nothing special about his size, wingspan, etc, so he's likely limited in his potential, but one thing he can do: Shoot. And the Rockets love role players that can shoot.

Allen shot 38% from three for his four-year college career on high volume. His best season was his sophomore year when he shot 41.7%.

He gets compared to JJ Redick, likely unfairly, but he reminds me a little of Danny Ainge. Pesky, annoying and a good shooter. All three players were first options in college. Redick and Ainge both successfully transitioned to role players in the pros -- but they had to improve their defense.

It's way too early to project, but right now most think he's an early second round pick. The Rockets have the least favorable of Memphis, Charlotte's or Miami's second round pick (which will be Miami's), and that's currently the 43rd pick.

If you thought the media hated James Harden, Chris Paul and the Rockets now, wait until they draft Grayson Allen.

I might also jump on the Rockets hate bandwagon if they draft Grayson Allen.

He is like JJ Redick with the personality of Royce White.

But the media doesn't hate Grayson Allen. They love him. The coverage he got in all the duke games was annoying. Especially the last one against Kansas where he was terrible and they kept showing him.

How long before even Gerald Green wouldn't come to his defense when an opposing player goes after him?

So does Grayson Allen like to bean other players upside the head with the ball too?

Is this not the dude who keeps tripping everyone? Good gosh people like that are hard to root for. Used to play with a guy that was a "tripper", I'm not totally sure dirty players make great locker room guys. Distinct difference between being a pest like Pat-Bev, and being dirty like Bruce Bowen.

If he actually falls all the way to #43, I'd be ecstatic to take him. I always think that non-lottery picks should be used on players with a few elite skills and not much else instead of an all-around game. This philosophy has produced a few late-round steals in Clint Capela (Long and Athletic), Montrezl Harrell (crazy wingspan and inside scoring), and Chandler Parsons (Shoot 3s, off-ball movement). All of our wasted picks seem to be guys with an "all-around game" like Marcus "Baby Melo" Morris, Royce White, Terrence "Hobo Hunter" Jones, and Sam "Baby Ariza" Dekker.

I doubt he falls to us because I am sure that one of the tanking teams with those early second round picks would love to get the Duke crowd watching their games to see this years version of Duke's Patented Swaggy White 3-Point Chuckers.

I'll gladly take him. He's a great shooter (yes I know he went cold in the tournament) and an underrated passer. He gets a bad rap for his antics but all I see is passion for the game.
