Yesterday, he apologized to teammates, today he asked for a release. Dude gets crazier by the day. Not sure if I'd want him on the team. Maybe if there was a huge provision that let us cut him with no I'll effect.
That’s why he wants to be released. Raiders voided his guaranteed so he’s basically on a week to week deal.
Antonio will be looking for a place where ownership and management will be more lenient and accepting of his behavior in exchange for performance. I’m looking at you Dallas Cowboys. They’ll let Amari Cooper walk
He's free. Spoiler Some of them don't need a WR but talent is talent & they'll take it. Browns Chargers Chiefs Cowboys Eagles Jets Packers Patriots Rams Ravens Seahawks
This headcase just cost himself millions over nothing. He will certainly find a job, but no sane team is gonna give him a huge guaranteed contract after the nonsense this summer.
I dunno, I think yeah, if I'd have to bet... But this is the NFL and if there is one thing owners don't like is when players don't fall in line with whatever the team is trying todo. I would not be surprised either if no one touches this guy. We've seen talented players basically just get blackballed out of the league basically, and no, I'm not talking about Kaepernick (so no one please go there)
Agreed on no huge guaranteed contract, but he's too much of a difference maker on the field. He won't accept a one year prove it deal from a franchise like the Texans, but a contender? Watch out for the Cowboys, Seahawks, and before someone says "no way Belichek will put up with Antonio', consider the Patriots like talent on the cheap. This is the franchise that signed Josh Gordon, Corey Dillon, Randy Moss, Albert Haynesworth after each decreased their market value in similar circumstances
Royce White with game, proven on the field. Is the headache worth the potential payoff? Him going to the Pats would royally suck.
Yeah, I could see the Pats or Cowboys doing it for sure. Kraft is a guy that'd take him to a strip club and talk things over with him while Jerruh loves making headlines... Maybe we can re-create the "My Quarterback" press conference.
Come to the Cowboys. We have a history of dealing with drama queens. I don't think the Cowboys have any cap room left to sign him, however. But, we've always been the biggest circus in the league so we're used to dealing with clowns. Cooper and Brown on the same team. Now, that's a duo that could do some real damage with Zeke in the backfield and Witten at tight end. Defenses would struggle bigtime to cover all those options. I would like our chances.
Think it will all be for nothing because just like with head trauma and concussions, people aren't going to like his position, and they don't want to hear about it. It doesn't sell. He'll lose money and his position won't be heard. But think his being treated like an object instead of a human is actually a pretty important concept for the NFL who is way behind the business model. When you have top talent they really shouldn't be treated like foot soldiers anymore. They are partners and human beings.
Maybe trying to get more Twitter or Instagram likes with all his odd behavior made him lose all sense of reality.
