For the last two years Altuve's home road splits have been pretty large. Last year he was a 860 ops player at home vs 991 on the road. This year he is at 626 vs 1190. That is a massive split. I mean he is a scrub at home vs the best player in baseball on the road. Whats going on. Is something wrong with Altuves home life?
What's the team's home vs road splits? It can't just be the batter's eye, can it? Let Altuve wear road colors. Maybe then he'll mash at home.
MMP is playing as the 2nd best pitcher's park in MLB this year as far as hits and runs are concerned.
As a team the astros are 840 on the road vs 770 at home. MMP is laying like a pitchers park, but nearly 500 ops points?
In the years before 2016 his home splits were much better than his road, so as of now his career splits are almost dead even. When you play in a largely neutral home park splits can change from year to year. Not every stat really means something.
They all change their approach and try for the Crawford Boxes. On the road, they just let their talent hit.
I think that's too simplistic. If that were the case, the coaching staff would have been all over it, and told them to stop it. This is something deeper. I'm not sure if it's the batters eye that's changed, but they just look apprehensive and unsure. And also, this might just be total speculation on my part, I feel like they take more strikes looking at home as opposed to on the road. I can't quantify that though.
People are making observations about the team. If you've noticed, players have improved almost immediately after such threads. Clutch Power
Third year in a row Altuve is way better on the road. This year he has been hitting like a superstar on the road and a scrub at home. What has happen to Enron field?
