A year or two ago, I asked ESPN's Kevin Pelton on twitter which player has played the most seasons while having the lowest VORP (value over replacement player)-- i.e., contributing the least amount to team wins. I was expecting some perpetual bench guys like Rick Brunson who spend 9 or 10 years in the NBA making no more than minimum wage. The first player Pelton thought of was Jeff Green. Now, he might have had a better VORP season since then, but man has he had a lot of "empty calories" minutes.
