Which is why it is a moot point. Rox do that all day, meaning Pelicans don't. If Minny turned down a similar offer for Butler, and AD>>JB, why would essentially the same offer be accepted by Pelicans?

But, you never know if you don't try. Maybe Pelicans see it differently, and are more interested in their future.

It is important in this and other threads to understand that NBA first round picks aren't nearly the same as NFL first round picks. You can still get the top player at a position in a late first round NFL pick. Those guys are gone in the first five picks or so in NBA. Rockets picks will be late round picks. Therefore, they're more like.... 4th round NFL picks. Spread out over 7 years too. That's why it isn't getting the response many people are expecting.

New Orleans messed up. Davis needs a guard who can exploit the pick n roll. Nobody respects Rondo and Elfrid in the pick n roll. Defenses just double AD and live with those type of guys shooting. Harden AD pick n roll would be so unstoppable that Silver would veto trade immediately for Warriors reasons.

Bump. LAL, BOS, GSW, all trying to go for AD either in a trade this season or next.

Of course you do. But what assets do the Rockets have, besides the MVP, that NO would trade Davis for?

Four 1st rounders, Capela, Gordon...NOLA probably turns that offer down to trade Davis to the other conference for potential MVPs Jalen Brown, Terry Rozier and a 2022 2nd round pick :D:rolleyes:

Good point. We also play in the same conference. They'd rather send him east, for obvious reasons.

Anthony Davis is so good I'd even be willing to include MCW if that's what it took to get the deal done. Obviously it would be preferable to form a big 3 around Harden, Davis and MCW.

Beal is the only quality caliber player on the market as of now that can really help the Rockets win right now.
