If i were him i would have went for the connections despite the hand injury, you can always be on the sidelines learning plays. Becoming closer to certain individuals on the team

100% agree. I don't know the medical details of course, but building chemistry is important. I would try like hell to go to that.

Too bad for him. I hope he will be well enough soon to play ball.

The link below states the Rockets released Gentile - never knew he was signed.

    https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2018/10/rockets-sign-bond-waive-gentile.html

    Rockets Sign Bond, Waive Gentile
October 12th 2018 at 9:12pm CST by Dana Gauruder
The Rockets signed guard Tim Bond and he’ll join their G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Mark Berman of KRIV tweets.

The 6’6” Bond played all four of his college seasons with Eastern Michigan, where he averaged 8.6 PPG and 3.0 APG. He averaged 9.2 PPG, 4.9 RPG and 3.5 APG during his senior year.

In order to open up a spot for Bond, the Rockets have waived guard Alessandro Gentile, according to NBA.com’s transactions log.

It’s unclear when Houston signed Gentile, since he wasn’t listed on the 20-man training camp roster. Gentile had been recovering from right hand surgery after suffering the injury in May.

Gentile, a 6’7″ wing, has played overseas since being selected with the 53rd overall pick in the 2014 draft.

This has to be an error or Gentile requested to have his rights waived

Shame about his hand. Would’ve at least liked to seen him in preseason.

AG - the guy who always wanted to come over/play for the Rockets and Rockets were never interested. "Nah, we're good."
SL - the guy who never intends to come over and Rockets beg this guy every offseason to come over. "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!"

Yup, but with Paul and Harden the best PG, Combo guard duo in history. For now.

We are not doing that no more. Llull C.

Must have been pretty terrible if they didn't even see him as an asset to be traded at a later date.

not much should be expected when drafting 53rd. his chances of making it over here were slim to none anyway.

Now that he's waived, he's free to negotiate with any team. So not a total loss.

Gentile just exploded for 30 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and drew 6 fouls in the Spanish ACB.
