Hong Kong is the gold standard for peaceful organized protests -- they even clean up. For violence and rioting Greece remain champions and are a little overdue for an eruption of soccer hooligan level insanity for a few weeks.

Ahh, F-greece! They play the most unappealing style of football, ever. "Let's form a tight phalanx infront of the goal and pack it in!!!!" Just a terrible looking brand of football...

Summer fun is soon over, kids should get back to school before getting spanked.

The shields and long spears make it awkward as well.

supposed to be one country two systems for 50 years. not allowing the prc to take political arrests whenever they want via extradition. sanctions and tariffs for peaceful pressure.

the west has been too afraid of wall street and big business to challenge the prc. just wanting their cheap goods and development opportunities

The normals here in the US are no more likely to submit to Democrat leftist domination than the people in Hong Kong are to their wannabee PRC directed opressors.

Yeah, I know, but not like they do in China and Hong Kong, or London, for that matter. My point was that we shouldn’t have them in the first place (which I didn’t say, but how I feel), and that we certainly don’t need any more. At airports, train stations, bus stations? I can see an argument there, but I would disagree with the argument. We had none of that when I was growing up. Somehow, we managed. Technology is both a blessing and a curse. This is the “curse” aspect of it, in my opinion. ;-)

It is apparently time for these brutal thugs to crush the goose that lays the golden eggs.

This is not very smart and it is also not very humane. But it is totalitarian, so at least there is that.
