Swing is reminiscent of a lefty Breg.

I forgot to include Barefoot's bonus in this calculation, plus Henley signed a little underslot, so without knowing what the bonus amounts for Brewer, Battenfield, or Guerrero will be, they're sitting at about $240k underslot, not including the $250k to reach 4% over the pool amount. I would think that would be plenty to get Gusto and Jordan in the fold, hopefully Campbell too.

Good to see another lefty underclassmen getting signed in Martinez.

Looks like Gusto, Campbell, Carvajal, Murphy, Rudy, and Plew are the only ones left undecided. I expect them to sign 2 of those guys, likely Gusto and Campbell.

3 HSers have yet to make their decision. I wonder if the Astros will a serious run at any of them with remainder of their bonus + penalty monies.

If my math is correct, the Astros now have $970,000 left in the pool before penalties with Peyton Battenfield's bonus yet to be disclosed and Jordan Barber yet to sign.

I think Brewer will need to sign before we get a good idea of whether or not they can make a run at any of the underclassmen they drafted in the 30s

Battenfield got slot. I suspect Brewer will get essentially his slot amount as well. I would guess if Gusto was going to sign for 125K, he'd already be signed, so he might eat up a bit of the ~250k they've saved. He certainly doesn't lack confidence.

Honestly, that kid seems like a douchebag. But I thought the same thing about Bregman initially, so hope he makes good on it.

So if I am keeping track correctly, there are 8 guys undecided with about $400k they can spend before meaningful penalties:
    Gusto
    Campbell
    Palmer
    Carvajal
    Nix
    Murphy
    Rudy
    Plew

Vainer, Dias, and Correa have said they won’t sign. Brewer, West, Gayle, McDonald, Palmer, Plumlee, Cody, Holcomb, and Barry have indicated they will sign or have signed, but the Astros have not announced it yet.

Most of those signed in the first group.

I believe Barry signed when Kessinger and Barber signed as well.

    Edit: guess not.

Thanks. So Brewer, Plumlee, and Barry are the 3 guys who’ve indicated they’ll sign or have signed who haven’t been announced.

Brewer and Plumlee can't sign until Michigan and Miss St are eliminated from the CWS.
