They CAN add but I don’t know if they all will be willing.

Between the Dodgers, Angels, Red Sox and Yankees... someone will offer him close or more than 30 million dollars a year. His stuff is top notch, his age is right and the last two seasons with the Astros have been exceptional.

I still hope the Astros find a way to keep him, I think he is taken for granted a bit. If he isn’t behind Verlander, the rotation looks a lot uglier.

Having said that I don’t think the Astros are getting any discount. If we want him, we will have to out big everyone else.

Losing Cole to a team like NY is a double gut punch... we lose an ace AND the Yankees get one at the same time.

The Cole situation is also why I could see the Astros taking Greinke in a deal with the Diamondbacks eating some of the money.

Don't worry....Brantley will get the World Series MVP.

    Let Cleveland have this one.

Sure did. I don't even remember what Bieber did...

...He apparently struck out the side in the 5th...and is an Indian.

Okaaayyy...I mean I know the threshold for All-Star MVP is low because everything is so distributed, but, still, what?

Way to milk Brantley coming back to his former team for all its worth then kick him off the field.

So.. Brantley has the franchise's first double in ASG.

MLB Network was broadcasting previous games and showed Craig's HR in '95. Had almost forgotten that happened.

Should have just given the Astros collectively the MVP. They all got hits, were responsible for scoring the first run of the game, and Verlander pitched a flawless first.

In reality, All-Star MVP is not really much of an award. Bregman hit a HR last year, and it was at the right time, and that was enough.

Now, an All-Star Razzie for Kershaw with his second AS loss: that would be good times.

Astros were great. Brantley should have gotten the MVP.

Astros become first team ever with first three hits from three different players.

    Ballers had four starters.

Glad Cole didn’t pitch. I’d let Miley throw Thursday and give Gerrit an extra day of rest.

    Friday: Gerrit Cole
    Saturday: Brad Peacock?
    Sunday: Justin Verlander

Actually, they became the first team whose first three hits came from their three players. Astros also had three players get hits last year.
