Machado just stepped on the 1st baseman's heel again because he (Machado) sucks and grounded out. What a little bi*ch.
Trump tweeted critical comments about the LA manager removing Hill from the game for a bunch of scared relievers...or something to that effect. LOL
It's comforting to know our commander in chief is bi*ching about baseball today instead of using his power to try to heal our nation . Back on topic... I have noticed a distinct trend: Every time Puig has a big moment in a big game and showboats, the other team uses it to fuel their victory. Dude never learns.
5-1 score, just like last year. Congrats to the Red Sox on their successful purchase of the 2018 World Series with their league leading payroll.
But their biggest acquisition (JD Martinez) was got at a relatively fair price... a lot of teams could have jumped on that if they wanted to. Teams still need to spend to win. It’s very hard to grow/cultivate the perfect nucleus of home grown players that can win it all by themselves... you need to add stars/vets in terms of free agency or trades.
Their media deal is mid-market. Boston’s is top 5. Boston has sold out Fenway (or near sellouts) for almost 20 years straight, with a ton of playoff games... all of that is revenue. However, if the Astros continue to have success... they can re-negotiate to get a media deal at least at the level of the Rangers, if not better. It was shitty timing that the year they decided to try and form their own network was also year one of the tanking plan, which didn’t help them in negotiating leverage. Would a separate Astros network work had they launched it after the WS year? Probably not, but a better chance of that.
