Of course they are interested in a TE who can't hold on to the ball.

Andrews would be a nice weapon for DW4 in the 3rd if available. Schultz, Smythe, and Fumagalli a little later might be better options as we clearly need some blocking help as well.

    http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2018/i...iper-todd-mcshay-three-rounds-head-head-picks

Three rounds. 100 picks. This 2018 NFL mock draft is similar to our "Grade: A" projections -- it's all about whom we would take at each pick. We're playing general manager for all 32 teams.

The ground rules are simple: alternate picks; no trades; no deals that say "I won't take Player X if you don't take Player Y." It's just "This is whom I'd take" at every slot on the board for three full rounds. Kiper kicks us off with the Browns.

We'll explain each pick below, and needs play a big part. We're not going to reach on our boards, but we are taking into account holes on each roster.

Note: An asterisk denotes a compensatory selection.

    ROUND 1
    1. Cleveland Browns | Kiper's pick: Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
    2. New York Giants | McShay's pick: Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State

    67. Indianapolis Colts | Kiper's pick: Desmond Harrison, OT, West Georgia
    68. Houston Texans | McShay's pick: Sam Hubbard, OLB/DE, Ohio State

I'm not thrilled with this pick, as Houston has several other needs and it's their first of the draft. Hubbard is another versatile player for a defense hurt by injuries last season.

    69. New York Giants | Kiper's pick: Nathan Shepherd, DT, Fort Hays State
    70. San Francisco 49ers | McShay's pick: Jordan Lasley, WR, UCLA
    71. Denver Broncos | Kiper's pick: Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia

    73. Miami Dolphins | Kiper's pick: Breeland Speaks, DE, Ole Miss
    74. San Francisco 49ers | McShay's pick: Kameron Kelly, S, San Diego State
    75. Oakland Raiders | Kiper's pick: Tyquan Lewis, DE, Ohio State
    76. Green Bay Packers | McShay's pick: Josh Sweat, DE, Florida State
    77. Cincinnati Bengals | Kiper's pick: Anthony Averett, CB, Alabama
    78. Kansas City Chiefs | McShay's pick: Jerome Baker, OLB, Ohio State
    79. Arizona Cardinals | Kiper's pick: Duke Dawson, CB, Florida
    80. Houston Texans | McShay's pick: Ian Thomas, TE, Indiana

Thomas is a solid prospect, and my fourth-ranked tight end is a good fit for a team desperate for more from that position.

    81. Dallas Cowboys | Kiper's pick: Tre'Quan Smith, WR, UCF
    82. Detroit Lions | McShay's pick: Jalyn Holmes, DE, Ohio State
    83. Baltimore Ravens | Kiper's pick: Jordan Akins, TE, UCF
    84. Los Angeles Chargers | McShay's pick: Kyle Lauletta, QB, Richmond
    85. Carolina Panthers | Kiper's pick: Arden Key, OLB, LSU
    86. Kansas City Chiefs | McShay's pick: Isaac Yiadom, CB, Boston College
    87. Los Angeles Rams |Kiper's pick: Oren Burks, LB, Vanderbilt
    88. Carolina Panthers | McShay's pick: Frank Ragnow, C, Arkansas
    89. Tennessee Titans | Kiper's pick: DaeSean Hamilton, WR, Penn State
    90. Atlanta Falcons | McShay's pick: Antonio Callaway, WR, Florida
    91. New Orleans Saints | Kiper's pick: Michael Gallup, WR, Colorado State
    92. Pittsburgh Steelers | McShay's pick: Josey Jewell, ILB, Iowa
    93. Jacksonville Jaguars | Kiper's pick: Colby Gossett, C/G, Appalachian State
    94. Minnesota Vikings | McShay's pick: Bo Scarbrough, RB, Alabama
    95. New England Patriots | Kiper's pick: Luke Falk, QB, Washington State
    96. Buffalo Bills | McShay's pick: Deon Cain, WR, Clemson
    97. Arizona Cardinals* | Kiper's pick: Nyheim Hines, RB, NC State
    98. Houston Texans* | McShay's pick: Jamarco Jones, OT, Ohio State

Offensive tackle is my top need for Houston, so we have to take one with one of our three third-round picks.

    99. Denver Broncos* | Kiper's pick: Shaquem Griffin, OLB, UCF
    100. Cincinnati Bengals* | McShay's pick: Tim Settle, DT, Virginia Tech

I want the little windmill, penny, the guy with no hand and Mark Andrews. Shaquem with a 4th round pick would be nice. He can run with TEs with his blazing speed and just club the ball away.

Oline is a need but nobody that far down is going to be great to start the first season. Need to address it with the first round next year. I'm excited It's almost May. After May is June, then July! I think.

All good up until the last three. IMO, there will be better talent still available.

Berrios is the slot guy that this offense has been missing. Guy is a good PR too. Very smart which is something I also like in a WR group.

While Kirk rightly got all of the pub, Ratley was quite productive despite Mond sucking and I think his best football is ahead of him.

I've liked Neal for a while and even if he misses, he has good ST's value.

Who do you project that will be there that are better than these guys. I'm really open to learning about new players.

I like the Bellage pick but chances are you can probably get him in the 6th.

Two RBs and two WRs? No OLBs?

Andrews is kinda timid as a blocker, and not really powerful at all. He blocks like a WR, which he used to be. If Gesicki wasn't in this draft Andrews would get a lot more crap about it. Maybe its fixable, but probably not right away. I'd gladly take him, but he wouldn't play right out of the gate.

Lucky for Andrews, Gesicki is so disinterested as a blocker that he provides cover for everybody else, so people aren't really discussing it.

He hasn't been asked to block. He certainly has the size for it.

I great redzone threat is something DW4 could really use.

The more protection and weapons for DW4 the better.

Carter is also a ST's weapon.

Cant fix everything in one year, so giving DW4 the weapons he needs to be successful would be job #1 for me.

But you're talking about, at best, the 4th and 5th receivers and 3rd and 4th RBs. Those are potential cuts and won't make the final week 1 roster. Even if you keep them on the roster, you can't have them all on the field at the same time. If you want to double at a position for the offense I would start with the tight end. And get me more tackles. Even if they're not starters, you need quality depth. Same goes with CBs. You usually start the season with at least 10 DBs on the roster. Plus you need OLB depth desperately.
