Exactly. We have none, while the Rays and Yankees still play each other. Not a valid comparison.

I didn't say it was likely. But I still think it is on the table given:

    1. Their upcoming schedules.
    2. Only 2 Yankee starting pitchers playing well of late.
    3. Tampa going 20-5 and winning 8 straight series.

Frankly doesn't matter that much. Want Oakland to win that WC game as they will be a bigger challenge for Boston right now.

It’s mathmatecally possible... but still only in the range of 0.1%.

Seattle is 7 back of the A’s and they still have 6 head to head games. Technically, they have a better chance of getting in the playoffs vs TB because of that schedule... but still only 0.1%.

They only have 3 head to head. They have 7 with the Rangers, 3 with Houston and 3 with Oakland.

My bad... guess they have more with the Angels than Mariners.

F *** you Bedrosian. Athletics lead 4-1. Bot 4, 2 out. Gave up four this inning, and is responsible for the runner on first. Pitching change. Athletics refuse to lose. :(

No. We are up 4 with 11 to play. 7 of which come against extremely shitty teams playing out the string.
It’s oossible we don’t win the division but exceedingly unlikely.

Only since 1990 when I moved here as a 12 year old. It’s not impossible. It’s also not something I’m staying up at night afraid of.

When did you start having this feeling?

The A’s haven’t been as close as 2 games out for several weeks now.

As far as pennant races go, this has not been that heated... mainly due to the fact that the Astros have also played excellent baseball to match the A’s down the stretch.

The main action is the wild card home field... which I also feel is overrated.

Trivino comes in with the bases loaded and one out. Simmons hits a 2 RBI single, then he drills Taylor Ward to load the bases. 4-3, Oakland. Time to get back ahead. Trivino's numbers have been really coming back down to earth lately. Go Angels!
ETA: Grand slam by Cowart (his first Home Run, Anaheim's first Grand Slam this season) puts the Angels up 7-4!!!!

Cowart strikes again, this time with a triple, bringing home another run. Halos lead 9-4, top 8.

Oakland strikes for three in the eight. Ugh. Angels still up by two heading into the ninth. Please don't blow it.

Some people here are bizarrely stressed about a not so tight pennant chase. I'm keeping an eye on it obviously, but not the slightest bit uncomfortable right now.

If this is getting your sphincter tight you are not ready for the torture chamber of the baseball playoffs.
