Gotta admit, I feel a bit bad for Duane Brown, his holdout has failed about as badly as it could have and all he ended up doing is costing himself some money and showing the Texans that they were right in not giving in to his demands. He really needs to show up and earn his starting job back.
QBs: All 3 of them RBs: All of them make it WRs: Hopkins, Strong, Miller, Ellington, Fuller(IR) TEs: Anderson, CJ, Griffin OLs: All of them make it except Josh Walker DL: Brandon Dunn cut ILB: Sio Moore is cut OLB: President and Dayon Pratt are cut CBs; Robert Nelson cut; Virgin makes it S: KJ Dillion is cut
Big ups to Andre Johnson. He is showing support to the texans granted he didn't get the ring here or period. Plus he never got to share the field with a qb like Deshaun Watson.
So he could get overthrown. Watson has proven nothing yet, yet he is the greatest qb Houston has ever seen. Lulz.
Bill O'Brien said today he's not going to give us injury updates until the season starts, when he is required to do so. DeAndre Hopkins and Jadeveon Clowney did not practice again today. The Texans had a pretty big group of players not practicing the last two days. O'Brien on Bruce Ellington: "I think the big thing with Bruce is staying healthy. If he's out there, he'll make plays for us."
We'll see. Missing all of camp means he may not be in game shape when he shows up, which could mean he won't be able to earn the spot back immediately.
Very excited about Tyler Ervin! If used correctly he should cause all kind of mismatches. Savage seems to really be building on last week and gaining more and more confidence. Our front 7 is just unstoppable for any O-Line. Love it! Beginning to worry a little about Kevin Johnson, hasn't really showed anything since coming back..
I wouldn't worry too much. We haven't heard much about any of the DBs to be honest. But I think the front 7 will give them plenty of opportunities to make plays. KJ is just fine.
So does Duane Brown just show up for to practice a couple days before our 1st regular season game? Maybe if he worked as a roofer in the Texas heat for a week he would appreciate how good he has it to play football a few weeks and make millions. I know guys who would die to do that for 100,000 a year.
I'm sure he is getting himself into shape. There is no advantage for him to come into camp. He gets hurt in Training Camp, Texans could cut him.......and he gets NO money. Salary is guaranteed for season, week 1.
That's factually inaccurate. You can't cut injured players. You can work out an injury settlement with them, but if a player gets hurt their money is effectively guaranteed. So no, that's not an excuse for his continued holdout.
