I generally don't like rap in this millennium, but DAMN. and RTJ3 are probably in my top five from 2017. I'm not sure if there's any other rap albums in my Top 50...maybe Big Boi and Vince Staples.
N.E.R.D. dropped one today but It's the new Jeezy I've been listening to all day (other than BThoughts freestyle)
It's much better than his last few albums, I really liked "Like Home", "Believe" and Tragic Endings" but I think I'm Em'd out. Loved his act back in the day, now it's 1 or 2 listens and done.
Only listened to the first half and will continue later. You're right about being Em'd out though, Em totally changed his style over the years and I really miss the old Infinite, Shady LP & MMLP Eminem, even Encore was much better. Not sure whether his voice changed that much and he just can't do the old style anymore, but it's a really drastic difference and much less pleasant to listen to imo. Seems incredibly forced, whereas back in the day he was one of the smoothest rappers and always delivered the lines in perfect fashion. Not sure how to describe it, but back then it was more like he calmly talked into the mic with a smooth voice, whereas now it always sounds like he angrily shouts.
What happened with him and Dre? He hasn't had Dr Dre do any production since Recovery, and even then he only produced 2 songs. To me it seems he really started going downhill after 8 Mile. He picks the worst beats to rap over now imo and continues to just yell, being all mad n ****. It's gotten stale.
According to the Wikipedia discography, Dre hasn't really done anything in recent years, besides the Compton movie soundtrack. Probably working on his billionth Detox song.

New Em and Mac Miller albums out, good start for the year. Will listen to em tonight and give thoughts later. Both of their last albums were some of their best (Em returning from his **** years and dumping the weird style, Mac with a thoughtful and jazzy album), so I'm hopeful.
