I think most people in here get that though. I'm still supporting businesses as well. Not as much as I used to, but no doubt businesses are struggling it's a fact.
And we need to be done with this. Masks? Stupid, but ok, if that makes the public feel better. Scared or ill? Stay home. These are easy things to do. But I need an end game. And a Vaccine ain't it.
Getting back on track, yes I miss life as it was in February of this year, which seems like 5 years ago.
what does that have to do with this thread or the OP? and you said masks are "stupid" and now say bars are getting killed for no "scientific" reason. are you sidelining as a scientist or disease expert now? attitudes like yours are why s*** is still shut down. for the record, i actually went to a bar sunday night. me and a friend were doing an "urban hike" around downtown austin, as i mentioned i have been doing...and we stopped at lavaca street bar for a couple pints. we walked in with masks and the bartender told us to take a table and they would get our drink order there. all the tables had clear plastic partitions b/t each other and you kept your mask on till you sat. i know a lot of people who wont do that right now, but i feel like its pretty safe . there has to be a balance b/t "shut it all down and dont go out at all" vs. the fattys of the world who just want everything and everyone to act like there isnt a global pandemic going on right now.
I wanted to say kudos for patronizing these establishments. If you're going to go out and eat, at least you're helping the little guy. A good lesson for everyone- buy local, especially these days. Chili's can live without your business, Mama's Pizza can't.
Many COVID Outbreaks Traced to Restaurants, Bars WEDNESDAY, Aug. 12, 2020 (HealthDay News) -- New data shows that many of the community outbreaks of coronavirus that have cropped up in the United States this summer have originated in restaurants and bars. https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/202...outbreaks-of-covid-traced-to-restaurants-bars This is why some of us can't take the risk, even if we want to. I can cook at home and don't go crazy if I don't drink. Is it what I want? Absolutely not. But, if I became infected in a basically mask free environment it wouldn't be worth it.
Look, what you are doing is derailing a thread. No one in here wants to read that. If you want to post it, go to D&D. That’s where it belongs. Clutch created it to keep politics out of Hangout. Remember?
I've been staying inside mostly out of respect for my family, but started driving out more for my sanity. The thing about death rates...the virus is still novel. Hospitals might understand more to better treat you, but your body can't handle it like it does with the cold. So quit quoting death rates unless you actually work at a hospital and want more business. Makes you look like an ******* who passes the buck and never had to own up for your big ****ups.
