Yea sure. Uh huh. Right. Blatant disregard. These players are hopeless.

Glad Max pointed out Clevinger's hypocrisy. About time some of our antagonists are exposed for what they are.

Stephen A. goes off about Clevinger also. Its nice to see his rant directed in exactly the right direction this time.

    Via Ringer: https://www.theringer.com/mlb/2020/8/12/21364356/houston-astros-2020-slump-jose-altuve-alex-cintron

"the Astros’ offense isn’t the problem. [...] the Astros have scored 82 runs through 16 games. That figure ties them for first in the American League."

"In fact, the culprit behind the Astros’ uninspiring start is so obvious as to be downright anticlimactic: All their pitchers are hurt.

OK, maybe not all. Zack Greinke and Lance McCullers Jr. haven’t missed a start yet. (The fact that McCullers has thus far evaded the injury bug only adds to this year’s perpetual Opposite Day atmosphere.)"

It was the problem during the Oakland sweep.

But extra-inning run scoring as well as converting 9th inning 1-run saves have also cost this team about 4-5 games.

Man....Reddit’s /Mlb and /baseball threads are so depressing. So many fans are slamming Altuve. It’s so sad and frankly just callously misinformed. It’s staggering just how many stupid people there are; worse, it’s like their message is the only one reverberated across the internet. I really hope Altuve turns it on just to shut those fools up. It’s clear he’s just fried right now. I don’t blame him. Altuve has wrongfully bore the brunt of the media/fans hate. It’s just so infuriating. I wish Marwin or someone else would step up and say something. Even Gattis or something. To quote Carlos, if you don’t know the facts, then just shut the **** up. This is akin to everyone slamming Bonds for steroids m, or worse, his teammate, while ignoring the steroid usage elsewhere. What a joke this league and it’s following is. /rant

They've all forgotten or just don't care, that the only reason why they are so certain Altuve wore a buzzer came from someone playing a joke on Twitter and pretending to be Beltran's neice. A fake Twitter account and Altuve not wanting his jersey ripped off apparently is proof. This despite the fact that MLB had personnel in the dugout and replay room in the 2019 playoffs to combat sign stealing and the Astros left zero evidence or email trace of buzzers. The Astros are a baseball team, not the CIA.

Do not go there; it’s so bad for your mental health. You can’t say anything with an Astros flair at all; you will get downvoted to hell. They defended the A’s coach with the nazi symbol a ton and they didn’t care about the angels staff giving Tyler Skraggs drugs nor the Red Sox cheating. Joe Kelly is labeled a hero there

Specific players aside, what really hurts here is the kind of team the Astros are, or were perceived to be. We were the "good" team to watch. The poster boy team. Young, energetic players that were fun to watch. There was something almost wholesome about watching an Astros game. But now, the good have become the ugly. Its a bit like finding out the Walton's were actually drug dealers or that Luke had turned to the dark side. It would be a bit different if this teams identity were that of the Oakland Raiders or Detroit Pistons during their respective "bad boy" years. Hate can fuel teams like that.

Baseball community is just straight up cancer. This "scandal" has exposed that.

It was exposed to those that look deeper than headlines. Unfortunately, the vast majority of casual fans only see the Astros cheated.

But you know, cancer has a way of spreading. And when it infects the casual fans mind, it wont be pretty for the MLB/MLBPA.

Washing jock straps would be way short of what these guys deserve. But it would be a start :)

Baseball continuing to turn off fans with supposed unwritten rules.

If Tatis is in the game, he should be expected to do damage. The Rangers have every reason to be upset... but maybe they should be more upset at the pitcher who’s lack of control created the 3-0 situation.

unfortunate that the Padres manager didn’t have his back. SD fans now livid at him and already blaming him for when Tatis leaves as a free agent or gets traded during arbitration.

Two sites that have emerged as early favorites as hubs for a playoff bubble, per sources: San Diego and Arlington, Texas. Other possibilities: New York and Chicago/Milwaukee. But California and Texas are considered early favorites if baseball bubbles.

    https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29680121/weighing-postseason-bubble-mlb-learn-nhl

The 16-team postseason could begin in two geographic areas with two sites each, with Southern California and Texas emerging as early favorites and New York and Chicago/Milwaukee also possibilities, sources said. Following the wild-card round, the two National League division series could be played in San Diego and the two American League division series in Arlington, Texas, mirroring the two-hub format being used by the National Hockey League. Baseball could move its league championship series to a single site or maintain the two hubs until the World Series.

Are the rangers going to apologize if they score 8 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win the game? Stupid.

The only one that should be upset with Tatis is the next hitter.
