What if we could add a high motor 6'6 rebounder who shoots 36% from deep?

Oh you want to fight :D. I’ll gladly die on this hill.
    1. Of course he values offense and defense but he values marginal offense over marginal defense.
    2. Covington is a unicorn. He literally is a no stats allstar. If you look at advanced metrics he is literally the best role player in the league.
    3. Getting rid of center for a forward in general is a move for more offense.

but forreal. I think the answer is obvious but it’s so counterintuitive we refuse to accept it.

I think that is more an indictment of our offense.

If you've been watching the games then you'd know. No one is gonna put up lowlight videos of DC. As far as reports, what kind of reports you wanna hear? If Frazier is getting minutes ahead of DC, there's obviously something better that he does or has some value he provides for the system

In addition, probably killing him in practice or doing what's pointing in the right direction, if people are being honest here

You would be right, if you weren't so wrong.

The addition of Covington has improved Rockets defense. Covington is 3rd in the league in steals.

Covington as a Rocket is averaging 2.4 blocks which is 3rd in the league and more than Clint averaged.

Rockets have a #3 Net Rating in the Bubble because the defense is ranked #6.

Trade for Covington improved offense AND defense.

Serious question: Are you actually watching the games?

    Indictment?

I dont think you are using this word correctly.

And our offense is ranked #10 while the defense is ranked #6.

    For your information.

I did watch games, unfortunately he seldom show up on court, that's why i got no clue.
If frazier's (or any Others) getting minutes deems as the one n only presumption for DMC's eroding, ball mishandling, or early signs of losing his first step in drills, i just wondering why we had signed him n kept him on our roster w/o any study beforehand.
    That makes no sense.

no rivers is not the odd man out. It's a given what the primary rotation would be with everyone available. Thinking rivers would be sitting on the bench with 0 pt is just ridiculous, especially if anyone is actually watching the games

Covington trade also opened door to sign Jeff Green.

If you cannot see that our team improved, I could do this all day.

    LOL

This was an ignorant post when you first made it.

But after Rivers' 40 burger last night, you really look ridiculous.

This is such an interesting way to view it. First off using Bubble stats? Small sample size is small.

Second, if you look at our offense rating/ defense rating since the trade you will see it is about the same. With our defensive rating actually being about 0.5 worse if anything.

Third, relying on a single team on half a season is inherently problematic. The single best way to predict future success is by net rating and there is a positive correlation coefficient with offense.

The issue is we play a fast pace that requires a lot of effort on top of shooting a lot of 3s. Playing such a short rotation seems like a great way to get tired legs and sabotage our 3 point system. It doesn't matter if its DC or Luc or Bruno, even with Green we still have Tucker playing ~36MPG.

14 games is all Covington has played.

But in that time, Rockets have gone from 7th seed and now fighting for 2nd seed.

Small sample size but the results are dramatic.

You have ZERO sample size, small or big, to support your contention that Covington negatively impacted our defense.

Zero. Because that assertion is a complete fabrication.

Are you really blind to the fact that this defense is shutting down MVP caliber players in the clutch?

What? That’s not even what I’m making the case for. I said all things being equal Morey/MDA want more offense over more defense

    Disingenuous or ignorant declarative.

Covington is a lengthy athletic 3D player. The 3D descriptor clearly indicates that Covington has both 3ball ability as well as defense.

Further, Covington is not known for his scoring but for his DEFENSE.

Covington has been on All Defensive team.

You are fighting a losing battle here, no matter how you move the goal posts.
