He has a problem though. He has talked so much that he has fallen behind Biden and he has to do interviews or something to change the complexion of the race. Normally it is the incumbent that really does not need to do any interviews, as they usually are ahead. If Trump doesn't do interviews, then the status quo continues for weeks..... plus Trump has largely already hurt himself, so the expectations in an interview for him are not great. Biden is rightfully known as a bumbler, but he hasn't done many interviews.... Trump needs to try and flush Biden out. The problem is interviews like this one will only make Biden sit back and not do anything...... when Biden gives an interview it is likely going to be with someone extremely easy on him........ Trump thought he would have it reasonably easy with his Fox interview, but Wallace doesn't play around..... which is also why Biden will likely stay away. There comes a saturation point and the question is whether Trump is there yet.
So I guess they think trotting him out for these interviews will be a contrast to "Biden hiding in a basement" but he looks more and more foolish everytime he does this. This is how you push back without looking like you are trying to show him up. Don't think he will be doing these much more, he looked especially petty talking about Lewis not attending the inaugural, talk about a snowflake.
