Cliffs: player doesnt kneel for National Anthem then subsequently tears ACL. Opinions vary with some mocking injury. Jersey sales increase. https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...s-poll-jonathan-isaac-knee-injury/5577329002/ ESPN’s Dan Le Batard apologized for a tasteless poll question regarding Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac, who tore the ACL in his left knee two days after standing for the national anthem while his teammates kneeled. Awful tweets here: https://brobible.com/sports/article/jonathan-isaac-knee-injury-fans/
People will make tasteless jokes on the Internet. If the script was flipped and Isaac was the only one kneeling in the protest and he blew out his knee, are we to believe there wouldn’t be similar jokes coming from the other end?
It feels like I've seen that script before, minus the blow out the knee, and with the addition of simply not being allowed to play.
Didn't Popovich also stand? Did something bad happen to Pop after he stood? I think it's perfectly fine to stand. Good for him. I also think that Kneeling as a way of highlighting a social message is fine too. Right now with everything going on America is failing in many ways and it's a good time to push for change for the better. We certainly need it, and we also need that pride too. Pride mixed with the fire & drive to bring change is a good mix.... especially right now. Freedom of speech is a good thing.
Personally, I don't have a problem how people choose to express themselves as long as they are not physically or mentally hurting another human being.
I don't really care whether a player kneels or stands. I do feel bad for Jonathan Isaac's season ending injury and I don't think he should be mocked for it.
Some people said some tasteless things about an athlete on Twitter. Am I supposed to be shocked and surprised? the amount of times I‘ve seen somebody wish a devastating injury on Harden is too many to count it happens in the game threads on here about opposing players on occasion
I think players should be able to stand free from any ridicule, same way as they should be able to kneel free from any ridicule. It’s unfortunate he was mocked after his injury, but that’s people for you, let’s be real here, imagine if Keapernick blew his knee, our president called the dude a son of a b**** while in office.
why is "random humans acted like assholes on Twitter" thread worthy? Of course they did. If misfortune befell a public person and nobody on Twitter was rude about it, that would be truly thread worthy.
LOL. I know you're kidding, but on the real, YouTube comments have (aside from politics) some of the best content ever when it comes to movie clips, songs, etc. There is a higher bar of humor there and the "likes" function seems to elevate some good content.
Damn BBob, I will run it by you next time for thread worthiness. Maybe i could add a little trump hate for spice.
Sorry, LOL. Please don't get butthurt, b/c I am one of your liberal fans here. I just hate that so many of us (myself included) allow ourselves to get angry over people being rude on the internet. Peace. Sorry this guy ruined his ACL, for the record. He has every right to stand during the anthem.
