If sports radio (which is still huge in Chicago) is any indication then yes, Baker is the most hated figure in Chicago.

I always felt it was odd...... they believe he destroyed the career or both Prior and Wood...... which isn't true..... and besides, until there recent WS win, he got them as far as anyone.

Baker is fine IMO. Like I said, I worry a little about the pitching decisions he has made in the past, but this year I do not have much to complain about.... he seems to be fairly open minded now.

Projected out for a more relateable scale

If we had won any of the close games we lost we would be 6-3 and on pace for a 108 win season. Instead we're "only" on pace for a 90 win season, despite a laundry list of injuries.

The fact that we have the best OBP in the league despite our seeming woes is very impressive.

Not sure if it is true or not as it is difficult to relate injury to usage, but Astros might have more reliever innings this season than the Cubs did in 2003.

Does that stat include all the runners that start on second in extra innings?

If that's the case and MLB forced Crane's hand to fire his own people while covering up a Yankees investigation and going light on the BoSox who were repeat offenders, than F*** ALL OF THOSE A**HOLES!

Also, keep in mind, expanded rosters too. That gives you more options, and more arms on the roster. Which I imagine might make it a bit easier to pull the starter earlier.

This three-game series took 766 minutes, or 12.77 hours. If you watched all three games from first pitch to last pitch, literally 1/6 of your weekend was watching the Astros and Angels. Manfred is KILLING IT with his pace-of-play initiatives. Just kidding, he's a threat to the game and needs to be removed in a coup d'etat. Just let Selig be commissioner again in a zany Weekend at Bernie's type of deal.

Just prolonging extras by letting each team score a run.

The end is near if the Padres are a top of a runs per game scored list.

I guess they’re worried that somebody will bring up all their articles about him being the next Babe Ruth.

he may have some talent as a hitter... but at this point, he’s about where Rick Ankiel was as far as ascension-decension.

Agreed. He hasn't lived up to the hype so far in either category - pitcher or hitter. He's shown flashes, but I'm not ready to enshrine him in the HOF yet.
