I'm not debating whether it is breaking the law or not. This was civic disobedience that broke the trespassing laws or what not. But it was done inspite of that because of what they believe is injustice. That's where the Rosa Parks analogy comes from. I'm sure the protesters are hoping their "breaking the law" will have an outcome that brings about the justice they are seeking. If so, I'm sure they'll believe it was worth it.
Doubly good to see any RB get paid before they're ran into the ground, and see a rival team give up considerable cap space.
I hope there is someone else negotiating for Deshaun because his agent doesn't seem too bright. This is Bush league ****
David Johnson's contract he signed in 2018 was 39 over 3 years. Still more per year than Henry signed in 2020. And the cap hit for DJ in 2020 is 11 million and 2021 is 9 million. That is still a worse contract than Henry's lol At least Henry IS the offense and deserves to be paid like it. DJ is what, the fourth best player on the offense?
Physicals and equipment fitting the next two days for rookies, QBs and select vets. Full squad slated to report on 7/25. It’s up to the NFLPA to file a grievance if clubs are not in compliance with health and safety protocols. If any club is not in compliance with health and safety protocols outlined in the original March agreement, the union can file an expedited grievance. Discussions between the sides continue, with owners set to meet via conference call Friday. So the clock is now ticking: If the NFL and NFLPA don't have an agreement on testing and other health and safety protocols before Monday, #Chiefs and #Texans players will be required to report or face discipline, setting the stage for a potential grievance. Talks remain ongoing. ... The economic proposal the NFL sent the NFLPA on Tuesday removed the 35% salary escrow provision — but instead would’ve slashed each team’s player costs by $40 million in salary cap and/or benefits in 2020, per sources. Player leadership strongly opposed to such a short-term hit. Under the CBA, the NFL and NFLPA must negotiate in good faith to correct a projected multibillion-dollar revenue shortfall. Union wants to spread the hit over future salary caps. League wants help managing costs now. The sides continue to work towards a deal. Under that league proposal, any remaining revenue shortfall would've been made up in salary cap/benefit reduction in 2021, likely leading to veteran cuts and restructures over next two years. As one player put it: “No thanks. Not taking the COVID risk and (the) financial burden.” Another key piece of the NFL's proposal: Any player may opt out of the 2020 season with written notice by Aug. 1 What happens if no deal is struck on economics? A projected multibillion revenue shortfall in 2020 would be accounted for in 2021, causing the salary cap to drop by in the range of $50 million to $70 million per club. League wants a deal done before camp. Union in no rush.
Chiefs proving once again that you can pay top dollar to your core players if contracts are structured correctly and your QB cares more about winning than getting every dollar he can get.
Waller: 90 receptions | 1145 yards | 3 TD (83.2 PFF grade) Fells: 34 receptions | 341 yards | 7 TD (60.1 PFF grade) *Career bests for both *Waller is 27; Fells is 34 You really wouldn't rather have Fells
