Vince McMahon said that's what he wanted to play in the XFL.

The pressure was too strong, and he a weak leader.

Texans wouldn't make playoffs with capernick in locker room.

    Glad capernick outta league!

^^ This is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read.

You are aware that the majority of the team is black, correct? Majority black team with players getting paid millions of dollars. Must be a racist owner! Ridiculous.

Kaep's current talent and skill level is not worth the sideshow distraction -- which would be HUGE. No thanks.

So...then Donald Sterling wasn't a racist because he owned an NBA team and paid black players millions of dollars? Got it....

Not to mention the need for the Rooney rule and it's mediocre results. So things are far from perfect in the NFL. But bottom line is the owners are BILLIONAIRES and no one is going to tell BILLIONAIRES how to run their business.

I don’t blame him to play in that circus. I think he gets a job finally this year and won’t demand some crazy amount.

If the goal is to shake off the racist label, you can't sign someone competent, because people would say you have ulterior motives (that they can actually contribute to winning). But I feel like signing Kaepernick is a half-measure. Instead, sign Dave Chappelle to be your backup QB. Then, the signing would prove you're 100% not racist.

You guys remember when Bobby posted the picture of the white guy with red hair saying it was Kaepernick and he was just trying to make himself look "more black" (paraphrasing here) by growing the afro out to make it seem like he had a cause? All because he didn't like him kneeling? Anyways, it aged well. Let me see if I can figure out how to quote it, considering the thread got locked.

    We will see.

You're probably right, the owners will cave to the pressure.

I think if they DON'T sign him they are clearly racist. Just like any NFL players not kneeling are now pretty much saying I'm racist.

    Goddell banned capernick for life.

That type of ban means he ain't coming, no pension, twelve years a slave!

    Capernick can only blame himself.

He shouldn't have been opposed to big business and looking to start a strike.

He wasn't that good because Frank gore was running back who did most of the work for 49ers!

I’m in the no camp. But I would have signed him the year Deshaun went down. In a heart beat. Two reasons. And it would work out for every party. You sign him, he balls out, you trade him for a failing second and/or third round draft pick that you’ll screw up. You sign him, and he sucks, welp, sorry bro, but you sucked.

When Deshaun went down, I would have signed him to two year deal, guaranteeing him the rest of the year, and something in the second year where you could easily cut him with no loss. You’ll get Deshaun back, plus trade value now.

I’m all for the guy getting another chance and I hope he does but let’s not continue to gloss over the two facts that he wants to start and wants starter money and he’s made it clear that IS his criteria. If he would come back as a back up with a chance to start at a fair salary he probably would have a job. The talks with teams breakdown when he gets to the demands, BAL being the latest.....
