I was told he wouldn't get paid much because he only got 9.5 sacks!

He had THREE sacks last season. THREE. Let’s see what he gets before you gloat. I don’t think he gets Donald or Mack money.

Just because he gets paid, doesn't mean he's worth it.

The Texans flat out couldn't afford him. He's a luxury at that price tag. Kind of like an overpriced purse some woman may want because they think it makes them look good for some reason.

Any team giving clowney 100m must be out of their damn mind. Good vs run and average pass rusher.

They could have afforded him last year.

They didn't want to. I'm glad.

Just like I'm glad my wife has never asked for that expensive purse. In both cases, it's an overrated purchase.

If he gets paid well, then all it means that we didnt extract enough value out of him with the sht trade. it is what it is.

Clowney last year was not expensive and the Texans paid half his salary for Seattle anyway

If you want to use this analogy it would be as if you ordered a $3000 purse at discount for $1000, didnt want to pay for it, so you sold this purse to someone else for $500 while eating $500 for nothing, and then got your wife a cheapo $100 purse at retail value.

And then your wife responded in whatever the equivalent of a defense getting scored 51 points in a playoff game and being laughed at by everyone for how much fail it was.

Um, Clowney wanted $19-$20 million. Texans were not going to pay that and it seems the rest of the league won’t either. I bet he gets between $13- $15 million.

They did by not paying him. Clowney and his people thought he would get better offers on the free agent market. Clowney would have made $19+ million if the Texans a 2nd year and by what the market is telling them, that would have been a mistake.

What did we do with all that cap space we got from this sht trade for this off season?

Oh Yea we got rid of hopkins instead of using said cap space.

At this point having Clowney back wouldn't be bad. Only bad at a high price.

We were first in line to pay half his salary last year, while he was playing for another team.

Feels like BO'B has kind of poisoned the well at this point. I would be surprised if Clowney even considered coming back to Houston.
