it's rotten from top to bottom.. cheap owner, most hated GM, bad coach, lazy on defense superstar, bricks throwing role players, silent home crowds, the only bright spot is Cayleigh Griffin.
1) no Defense 2) no Defense 3) no Defense 4) offense is boring and involves 1 player * is predictable and eventually some team will figure out how to successfully guard that player than HOU will be lost 5) no Defense ... mans lastly NO DEFENSE!!!!!! (side note: no defense will ALWAYS = no CHAMPIONSHIP!)
Im going with what makes me feel best and I say its the damn refs fault. A lot of times it really might be and I understand that its a long season and droughts happen but we look really bad right now. There is still time to gel so lets hope EG turns back in to what he once was and Harden can maybe up his average to 50.
lack of actual depth and the continued atrocious defense, are by far the issues that need to be addressed before anything else.
It’s built around James Harden. We can add other role players and shore up the depth but it’s not going to change anything. Harden’s still gonna walk, dribble the **** out the ball and shoot his 24+ shots while everyone else’s attempts gets divided up even more. It was always going to be hard to win a ring with Harden. We came close with CP3 but losing him and trading for Westbrick made it impossible. It shouldn’t be surprising we were at our best in 2017 when Harden was taking fewer shots, dribbling less, distributing more, played defense and was held accountable for mistakes. When he did the aforementioned it led to the most wins in franchise history and a well earned MVP to show for it. All that went to **** all with CP3 gone. Between Harden/WB they dribble and shoot way too much. They’re not getting the role players involved early & often. Too many turnovers and not enough assists. You can deny deny deny all you want but this team is not a legit contender.
If you pay attention you will know this - even Clutch has tweeted about it. I don't care if you believe it or not - be like Matt Gaetz and defend Donald Trump - doesn't make you right. DD
The negativity around is just to much. Some of you thrive on it like an addiction. So much negativity around all Houston sports. A dark time to be a fan.
“We’re only 1/3 of the way through the season!” @Os Trigonum ans all these other delusional fools. Was clear to anybody the problems this team has
I think the main problem is we have too many whiny fans. We'll figure this out and have a shot in the playoffs, barring any kind of big injury. Russell is a major part of our team and we're still working him into our game plan. And I hope we'll get some help at the deadline. If we get the second or third seed then we've got a shot. The 4 screws us like last year. I think we have a shot at 2 or 3. The Lakers will be tough, as will Milwaukee if we make it to them. I have no fear of Utah or Denver, we've showed them how to play basketball in the last few years. I am wary of Dallas due to their surprising play. Some Losses: Clippers-PHX, New Orleans, HOUSTON TWICE, Chicago, Memphis Boston-SAC, Brook, Was, Det Mia-Minn, Hou, Mem, Was, Orl, Brook, New York Den-New Orl x2, Atl, Sac, Brook, Was, CLE Dal-Port, New York x2!, Sac, Ok, Cha Utah-Sac, Mem, Minn, Ok, New Orleans
We let Ariza walk Moute got a career-derailing injury in a meaningless game 82 We turned Deanthony Melton and Ryan Anderson into Knight and Chriss, then into Shumpert, then let Shumpert walk. We decided to sign Carmelo Anthony for unknown reasons and then unceremoniously dumped him after 10 games. We signed Michael-Carter Williams for unknown reasons. We signed Kenneth Faried and then when he became a defensive liability, completely alienated him and moved on. We wasted development time on Zhou Qi instead of filling the backup PF/Center role. We tried to replace Ariza & Moute with James Ennis, then dumped him for a 2nd round pick swap. We tried to replace Ariza & Moute with the corpse of Thabo Sefolosha. We tried to experiment with Terrence Jones for unknown reasons. We got screwed by the NBA on Nene's contract. We claimed Deyonta Davis on waivers and dumped him for unknown reasons. We signed Gordon to an extension that made him untradeable during this season. We did nothing during the past two offseasons to sign players between 6'5 and 7'0 except try Chinese Basketball League level players. We decided to rely on an aging defensive specialist and a G-league journeyman as our entire SF-PF rotation on a contender. We traded our two-way second star and two first round picks for an enimatic/bipolar second star. That about sums up where we are. Yes, what could possibly go wrong?
