Thought he was gonna say refs taking Rockets points off the board.
    Did that **** again tonight.
Oh, so the Rockets only have 30 seconds to challenge but refs can go 3-4-5 minutes after, go back and look, and just take points off the board.

I'm glad they aren't giving him a ton of foul shots, it'll prepare him that much more for the playoffs when the refs really swallow their whistles.

Probably so... NBA is so corrupt. They do stupid crap all the time. And people are fed up with it... Almost all the people I know have stopped watching the NBA and not just in a Houston.

Problem is that all of us are noticing. And Harden is proving how he doesn’t need their vinegary calls; so they can throw him under the bus tomorrow as the NBA bad guy.

They are only allowed to do that if they are taking points away. No checking to see if the ball actually went into the basket though.

Not necessarily, I think a combination of reasons. The NBA listens to fans and right now Harden is public enemy number 1 since fans unfairly judge him differently than say Luka Donkey or Greek Freak whom they hold to high esteem and praise. The overwhelming sentiment from fans along with the ever accusatory and malicious media Doris Burke included, has singled out Harden casting a lot of negative light on him about things such as manipulating the game or exploiting technicalities and feigning fouls etc. NBA caved in, took heed, and acted. Crazy as it sounds but Doris Burke’s commentary was one of the most damning since it was a publicly televised game. I’ve never seen a more polarizing player than James, an intelligent and gifted man who just wants to play basketball and win.

it is a myth that refs swallow their whistles in the playoffs. free throw rates are higher in the playoffs. giannis's free throw rate went up massively last year. you know who dropped off the most (among the main scorers)? some guy named james harden. it appears the refs only swallow their whistles for james harden. i suppose this is good preparation either way, but the refs only have eyes (or lack thereof) for one guy.

fun fact, the second worst dropoff was westbrook.

you'd never know that over the last 2+ seasons jimmy butler has almost the same free throw rate as james harden. or that giannis was higher last year. somehow other players can be legitimate free throw machines, but not james harden, a guy who exclusively takes shots at the rim and crazy step back 3's than cause defenders to lunge at/into him.

We’re only speculating according to Durvasa. The NBA ruled fairly and is as honest as a Boy Scout.

    Does it, though?

They seem to be just as hateful and ignorant as before.

Harden could score 100 on 50 FGA, including none from 3 and no free throws, and they'd still say it's only because he's a ball hog who doesn't care about his teammates. Throw in 15 assists in the same game and it wouldn't deter them.

it helps a bit, even if harden wins a chip he will be hated still. The only time I can see people finally appreciating him is when he has his farewell tour when he is about to retire.

    I do not doubt it.

At some point I would hope that Daryl Morey would figure out that the NBA is an organization where you have to play by their unwritten laws if you ever want to get anywhere.

It took Cuban awhile but he stop pointing out the leagues short comings and blown officiating calls.

Sam Heinke discussed tanking a little too openly and the league pushed the Sixers to get rid of him when new ownership came aboard. They pushed a yes man (Colangelo) to get an executive position with the Sixers who then released his resignation letter. Sam Heinke has been black balled and will never get another job because the league will punish whoever hires him.

Morey sent the report on officiating to the league last year. That was enough. It changed nothing except the league unleashed the media story that Harden is an overrated monster. Now the protest? The commish said he didn’t care. Drop it... stop with the BS because all it does is hurt the Rockets... from China, to the report in the playoffs, to the protest game, to the Nene contract... the league office has made it clear you better play along to get along if you want to have any chance of real success.
