Seen this game 100 times, but this got me pumped up for today. Not that I needed it, but let’s get it.

Opener for Verlander? Start first inning with Peacock or Harris then transition to Verlander?
    Peacock/Harris - 1st
    Verlander--2nd-8th
    Osuna-- 9th

Backup: Joe Smith, Harris/Peacock, Urquidy if he leaves sooner than 8th

    ;)

I can't believe you would say something so awful and classless.

Verlander has struggled to get a feel for his pitches when he 1st takes the mound, whether that's the 1st inning or 2nd with an opener I don't think it would matter. Hopefully the Nats over swing on a few pitches and those balls in play find gloves instead of grass or the seats.

I understand. During the Astros reign, my Grandfather's presence has been powerful, the memories thick. They're with us.

The prospect of clinching the World Series here in Houston.

As a native Houstonian who grew up making the pilgrimage to the dome, I'm proud...really proud.

This is a great day for all of us.

Verlander needs a clean first inning.

And please give Verlander some run support.

yeah it wasn't really a serious suggestion but with a strategy that includes using openers, given Verlander's first inning struggles, and the importance of this game, it makes for interesting fodder. I hope Justin busts out of his WS wins slump and does Justin this game. Stoked for Game 6!

If the Astros win the World Series it’ll be the first time since 2013 that the WS was clinched at home

This game is going to be tough. I predict the Nats are going to come out very focused and confident. We need mistake free ball especially in the early innings. I get the feeling runs are going to be at a premium with Strasbourg on the mound..

I could be way off but I feel they (Nats) play tight, nervous and go down early and stay down.

Sounds like my grandmother, except she was the bigger Astros fan. She used to drag my grandfather to the dome 81 games a year for almost 30 years. They took me to about 50 games a year and it was my escape during an otherwise tumultuous childhood. Needless to say, Astros baseball is in my blood and will always be my first love. It's just a lot more satisfying now that they are the best team in MLB! Ready to close this out tonight and celebrate another World Series win!!

I don’t think we can consider this a coronation. The Nats know last game they didn’t have one of their horses. They also know they can beat Verlander and win at Minute Maid.

I hope we win but if the Stros take this game for granted we’ll have to do it again tomorrow

I just don't see Verlanader making the same mistakes against the same team again. He's 0-5 in the WS and the law of averages is in his favor just like it was for Yordan. I'm frankly not worried at all. I think the Nats players have mailed it in and their only hope if a shutout gem by Staruss.

Coming into this series a lot of people were saying it was over before it began too. I’m not really seeing this Nats team demoralized. This is also a team that staved off elimination before too.
