This guy...never posted in the Astros forum until this morning. Where were you yesterday, or any day after the Nats clinched the NL, Mr. Super Fan?

Well, if Alvarez does what he did last night, he'll be on base a lot when Correa comes to the plate. Now it's incumbent on Carlos to actually get a hit.

Yeah but that’s what made his start so good imo. MS had balls of steel and battled his arse off. He definitely didn’t have his best stuff and he still made it count. I was really impressed with how he willed himself to produce.

Right. He needs to go start a thread in other sports for the nats. Don’t want to see fans of opposing teams in a game thread.

I have no problem with him posting here, in general, but why wasn't he posting anything before this morning? He had to wait until his team took the surprising win, and now he's acting all cocky about it.

Alvarez never should have been moved back in the first place. Rookies need consistency. He needs to wake up knowing his role. He's a hole in the lineup right now, but we can't win without him since he's basically an MVP caliber talent. He just has to correct and get back on track, and the veterans need to get him there.

Well he was so godawful in the ALCS that Hinch had no choice. And given that Correa hit that 3-run jack in Game 4, he was right to move Alvarez back.

Yeah I don’t think it matters at all where either of those guys are batting. Just interesting that he flipped it.

Beyond Horrible, Bregman has been completely a non-factor.

That’s inaccurate. He’s been disappointing and certainly way below his normal output. But he’s still worked pitch counts and drawn walks. It’s been better to have him than not. Though that’s not a good bar for Alex Bregman. Hopefully he turns that around.

Absolutely correct ... Even with his batting average as low as it was in the ALCS, I think that I heard his OBP was still around 0.420 or something like that? Not up to his standards, but far from embarassing

Yup. An OPS of near 800 as well. Not great but not his standard. His numbers are actually better this year than in 2017.

Does this just feel like the 2005 Astros offense? For a vaunted offense only Altuve is anywhere near his average. All others are pretty bad. Think Brantley is 261. But Correa and Springer are I. The rest of the fantastic 7 low 2’s. Eesh

Don't like hitting Yuli and Yordan back to back. That's a nice lefty reliever pocket for the Nats to try and exploit. Wish they could space those two out like they do Brantley and Alvarez.
