No excuses for that. Springer watches the ball for too long, could have been on third and would have been able to tag on Altuve’s fly out.

I'm saying even if he was on third, that wasn't an easy tag and the throw to home is easier than the throw to third.

I'm so happy and pissed at same time. Springer should have taken off running instead of watching the ball. You take off you could have been on third and scored with Altuve pop up.

You deal with Brantley leading off the 9th. I’d have sent him. Suzuki throws out 10% of runners and Doolittle is slow to the plate.

He screwed up and got caught up in the moment, but I don't think he was a guarantee to end up on 3rd, Tucker was still tagging from second, so Springer may not have even known if he would have gone home on the play, or may have paused. Again, he screwed up, but I don't think it's a given he was going to be there.

3 outs Bregman, Gurriel and Correa. I'm frustrated about a missed opportunity but we still got a chance to walk this off.

So frustrated. I guess I spent too much time in the 80s and 90s watching NL small ball, bunting, manufacturing runs getting a man on third and then just hit the ball in the air to score him.

All I see are LOBsters this postseason because I guess it’s too risky to steal bases now.

No, you're not. I've been racking my brain the whole playoffs (and much longer) why we can't even attempt to manufacture runs and have to live and die by the hit and miss.

Ugh, we're going to lose by one run, and I'm going to have to hate and not hate Springer at the same time. That's too draining. Win the damn game.

I’m so done with this patience crap and watch two strikes go down the heart of the plate and swinging on a bad pitch because you’re down two strike.

So in the 9th they likely pitch around Bregman. Then they have favorable splits against Yuli. Then we have McRib who has looked awful at the plate and then Yordan who shrinks the bigger the situation in these playoffs. Yikes. You never know though. Hopefully they throw a meatball to Bregman.

If we can keep them from scoring, we have a real nice shot to get this one.

Springer had a great game, but that's inexcusable in the World Series when you know the ball has not been traveling as far in the playoffs and a big deal was made out of Acuna not running one out earlier in the playoffs.

    Very disappointing

Hmm no Osuna. I wonder if that has anything to do with the recent media circus?

Springer's back must be sore from carrying this offense all game. Not going to fault him for not going for 3rd

    Let's go, Smith.

Hold them down, then get the DUB.
