What did he say that was insensitive?

Even if others are confirming what he said do they know the context or just what the SI reporter are claiming his motivations to be.

What exactly is the legitimacy of the article the fact that an Astros employee said supportive things about Osuna or the fact he did it maliciously?

    Sure.

It's a classic case of she/she/she/he/he said - PR department said.

No, in various ways, they disputed the Astros' version of events:

    Hunter Atkins
    @HunterAtkins35

The Astros called this @stephapstein report misleading. It is not. I was there. Saw it. And I should’ve said something sooner.

    The Chronicle articles notes:

The three female reporters were approximately eight feet away and one was visibly shaken by the comment, the eyewitnesses said. There were no players in the area and no interviews were being conducted at the time. The Astros statement said “an Astros player was being asked questions about a difficult outing.”

So, if what he was said just incredibly insensitive and not malicious, does that justify the comment? For someone who is an Assistant GM, so a potential face/representative of the organization regularly in the media and who was at the time in the presence of the media?

If it was just incredible insensitive, couldn't the Astros have agreed to that instead of how they handled the press release?

Seems irrelevant to me when also supported by at least 3 other reporters (so far). If you're using personal insults to dismiss corroborating sources, you might be the douche here.

And no one has supported the Astros' version of events as of now. That should raise some red flags.

Sorry but that article is a textbook definition of virtue signalling.

He is both taking up for reorters and also how woke he is about domestic violence and how Osuna should not be on the Astros.

This whole incident is about outrage culture we are realling getting up in arms about what somebody said in the direction of people and it was only saying how happy he was to have a guy on the team.

    Really?

The statements are talking past each other.

Nobody is claiming the side is lying just disagreeing with the inferences and motivations.

I don't remember Ray Lewis getting the kind of guff during the Super Bowl that Osuna gets and Ray Lewis murdered a dude. Not saying Osuna is innocent or should not be hated, just wondering what the difference is.

Ray Lewis didn't go after a reporter. That's the ultimate sin with reporters and you'll get their fury.

Why do they need to give details when the SI reporter did not give details?

No you would especially say it to show that you suport the player even after he blew a save.

You see it all the time in sports coaches and players picking up a guy after he had a bad game.
