The only newer star wars film i liked was rougue one. The other two was not great. This trailer made me a believer.

Eh. Looks good, and had some good emotional beats, but at the end of the day...I thought The Last Jedi and Force Awakens looked good too.

    I’ll wait and see.

Luke was ineptly drawn towards Leia when he didn't know.

Still irritated they did not explore the Snoke character more.

Who was he? He basically undid everything from 4-5-6.

His death was probably the most undramatic death in cinematic history.

In the movie Hero, it took 2 hours for the guy to get that close to Snoke to kill him. Solo is sneaky.

    Star Wars fandom

    1) Trailer has lots of fan service - "No originality" (aka The Force Awakens)
    2) Trailer has off in left field stuff - "They aren't staying close to cannon - why change things?" (aka The Last Jedi)

Being hyperbolic....but you get the gist.

I've liked all the new movies overall, but Rogue One was far and away the best.

How did the Snoke character undid everything from 4-5-6?

I agree his death was odd. But then again, they couldn't bring him back to 9 if Sideous is back. Maybe in 9 we get to know more about what Snoke was in relation to Sideous.

    He undid the rebellions victory
He undid the revival of the jedi

Post episode 7 should have been a time of peace, but instead it was "oh btw, this guy Snoke took control of everything while you were away"

We deserved to know who the heck he was, where he came from, how did he get so powerful, etc.

Well, basically, Episode 8 was a Charlie Foxtrot anyway. Some new elements that were at least cool and kind-of worked versus a lot of WTF. Totally wasted Luke Skywalker. They tried too hard to be different after its predecessor (TFA) was too much of "An Even Newer Hope". The weaponized-light-speed bit was the only moment I said, "Cool."

Finn and Rose sneaking out of the Rebel ship and saving the space horsies was a point so low that Jar Jar Binks felt happy to be second-worst low point, akin to George W. feeling better when compared to Trump.

I have no problem with experimenting with things that are different like they did in The Last Jedi. I actually appreciated them going for something different in TLJ as opposed to TFA, which was just embarrassing how lacking in original ideas it had.

The problem is....very few of those experimental things worked. Being different is neither good nor bad, you just have to be able to make it interesting and important, and the Last Jedi did neither of those things.

Rogue One remains the only good Disney Star Wars movie.
