Guess the big question is if the Pats will let him out early. Believe his contract runs through the start of free agency and the draft.

Just give the guy some real CBs to work with. His pass rush is legit, his run defense is decent (pretty much shut down the run yesterday), he just needs some CBs.

    Did they really though?

They got Reid, who is a very solid player but that is about it.

Akins is in the rotation at TE but isn't doing anything special and Keke Coutee hasn't been able to stat on the field and hasn't been all that great while on the field.

At the end of the day, it is fair to say that we do not know how the Texans will draft because the GM is gone and after the upcoming draft we will have a different GM. It is just a lot harder to get good players when you are missing your top draft picks but maybe the Texans find a few steals, it is possible.

    This.

I'm not saying he is the worlds greatest DC but I don't think he is the issue as much as it is a positional issue.

They are crippled going forward. Very unlikely to get better personnel wise with the draft and free agency situation next few years

Four picks from 48-100, that’s not top tier talent. You can try and play word vomit all you want. Fact is this franchise has a history of bad mid round picks. Until that changes not having 1st rounders and 2nd in 2021 hurts.
You should try to do the maths a little better before telling someone to get out of the basement kiddo

Being fair, one should realize that’s hyperbole in saying we don’t have picks. This franchise doesn’t have a great history for mid round picks and the value isn’t going to be that great when your first pick starts around 48.
Yes Tunsil helps, assuming he’s resigned. Stills is a great back up or low end number 2.
Won’t matter if there’s no secondary or pass rush to speak of in the next couple years.

I'd be a little woried about people saying him and O'Brien are supposedly good friends. Will he be able to fire his buddy if they are not improving?

A team with 12 draft picks the next two years and $92MM in cap space (before any increase in the cap, which is widely expected) is "crippled"........ Never change.

But it's empty, nonsense hyperbole; they have *plenty* of picks.

Who's the best player in their secondary and when was he picked?... Who strip-sacked Mahomes and when was he picked?...

That's why it's empty, nonsense hyperbole. It certainly makes it harder - but it's by no means impossible to find value in round 2-4/5. And... they have a TON of cap space.

Not all draft picks are valued the same. Cap space means jack sht, i will wait until signing to make judgement.
C0mpare to other competitive teams, our situation isnt optimal. especially with unknown gm

So, what’s nonsense to me is blind faith with no substance to back it up.
Reid, who had a first round grade, has been almost a no show this year compared to last year. Have hopes for him but there’s no guarantee.
Omenihu is all potential, he’s not a game changer at this point.
The old adage, quality over quantity. Sure they can throw a bunch of mid to low round picks against the wall and hope it sticks. Typically those picks are depth and not impact starters.
But keep telling yourself we’ll fill some big holes with those picks.
Yes, we have a ton of cap space. But Deshaun, Tunsil, Mercilus and others also have to be extended.
I’m as big a fan as anyone of the Texans, have watched every second of every game in their history. I’m extremely hopeful if Caserio comes over he can find some talent with mid round picks the next two years. History says it’s not likely.

I don't think being a GM is too difficult if you don't have any more picks to draft
